“Couldn't think of a nicer place to hang out, great location.”

We stayed at La Quinta Downtown for only one night but we arrived around 11.00am and though our room wasn't ready Marisol at the reception managed to find a room that was ready straight away. This was a great relief as my husband wasn't well and we'd been up since 5.00 to catch the train down from Vancouver.
When we got to our room we couldn't believe the size. The bathroom and powder room area were close to the entry and then the bedroom was separate. It was such a nice room, the bed was incredibly comfortable. Though we tried to make the most of our short time in Seattle we ended up spending the night in our room, which was so nice to be in. Little extra touches such as the free water and popcorn, as well as the in room microwave were great. We got dinner from Wholefoods around the corner, heat it up in the microwave and spent the night in bed watching TV. It was lovely.
Breakfast was more extensive than most of the hotels I have been to in the US with waffle maker, porridge, cereal, pastries, strudel, juice and selection of teas.
Reception were extremely helpful with ideas and even offered ideas about other destinations we were travelling to.
Great location, only a 10 minute walk to the Space Needle or Pike Place Markets.
Fitness room is pretty basic, but did the job.
All in all I would be very happy to return to La Quinta!

“Great rooms, great value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

My sister and I stayed here for 2 days in January. From the outside it doesn't look like much, but the inside in amazing. The lobby and breakfast area is gorgeous. The rooms are big and nice looking, great value for what you pay. Also the staff is very friendly. My only issue is the parking, there aren't a lot of spaces and the spaces are quite snug.
Still when we come back to Seattle we will stay here again

“Good location and value”

We stayed here for one night on our way up to Vancouver. We arrived at noon so our room wasn't ready for us yet which was to be expected considering check in wasn't till 3. We were able to park our car and went to get some lunch down at the Whole Foods a block away. The parking is free (major plus) but it is VERY limited so keep that in mind if you are arriving late.

They were able to get our room ready a bit ahead of time, but we had a little trouble getting the key cards to work. At first we thought they just weren't coded properly as we kept getting a red light when we tried to get into the room. After two trips down to the lobby to get the keys reset, they sent a maintenance worker up to check out the door lock. He arrived within 5 minutes, and showed us how to insert the key card at a slightly upward angle and pull it out at just the right speed. I have never met a door lock so finicky before, but we were able to make it worked if we followed the instructions exactly. Too fast or too slow didnt work.

The room was spacious and well decorated, with a big flat screen and a very comfortable bed. The shower was also very nice with a double shower head. We had plenty of space for the vanity counter and a good size desk, as well. The room had a terrific amount of space for a downtown hotel.

The hotel is about 2-3 blocks from the heart of downtown, so we were able to walk into Pike Place Market in about 10-15 minutes. Very do-able even in the chilly January weather. The amount of money we saved by staying here instead of a downtown hotel was definitely worth the extra 2 block walk. It seemed like the area directly around the hotel had recently been updated, and there's a new street car line that runs down Westlake. Lots of new buildings and shops in the area as well, and it felt very safe even at night.

We found the breakfast to be good and plenty for us. You could make waffles, and they had hardboiled eggs, yogurts, cereals, bagels, toast, etc. No scrambled eggs or meat or anything but a very reasonable selection for a hotel of this caliber and more than enough to get you started for the day.

The hotel doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside is well kept and comfortable. Overall, a great value for the location.

Have stayed twice in the last month as part of a group and the woman that works in the morning has been rude to several of us on more than one occasion. We will not stay again.

“More like a Westin than a La Quinta”

I hadn't stayed at a La Quinta in years, so I was pleasantly surprised to see one so plush. The bedding was extra cushy and cosy, it had a double-head shower, a new flat-screen TV and everything looked new or newly renovated. The breakfast was pretty standard for a hotel, but better than most. Had three kinds of coffee (although none that great), waffles, biscuits and gravy, breakfast burritos and all the other standard fare you'd expect. We were even successful in negotiating the price down, even though it was the week of Christmas and they really didn't have to. I was even impressed by their recycling efforts and delighted to see a Whole Foods right behind the hotel. I'd definitely stay again.
