“Could have been rated higher...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

All the previous reviews were spot on. Great location somewhat close to the space needle. Lots of restaurant around. The hotel itself has been recently renovated but there is ongoing construction around the site which makes for some ongoing noise as well as reduced street parking overnight (there is an adjacent lot which charges $5). Would have been a four star rating if not for dirty bed sheets (smelt like dirty diapers) and the noise from the highway when we opened the window to air out the room.

Room Tip: Avoid all the rooms facing the highway on ramp.

“Everthing Great Except Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

Stayed one night at this property in Sept on a spur of the moment trip.

The hotel itself was hard to get to once we located it, we had to drive down Aurora Ave. a bit in order to loop back. Roy Street changes from E to W with plain Roy in between. Take/print a map or prepare to be entertained. Property is basically on the corner of Aurora Ave. and Mercer St. Except Mercer St is an underpass and if you approach Roy from the South, Aurora Ave has a barrier in the middle - no right turns.

There really isn't anything of interest around the hotel like restaurants or shopping. There is a Starbucks in the supermarket one block away, which was great. There's a deli counter in the supermarket(QFC). You really need a car or public transit to get around Seattle from here. The hotel is in the vicinity of the Seattle Space Needle.

The Front Desk staff I dealt with were all friendly and helpful from check-in to check-out.
I approached the front desk for advice and directions a few times and they were bang on with the info.

The room was the best part of stay. I got a room with a King Size bed and it was super comfortable - I slept so well that night. The room was in good shape, not much to see outside. Large flat screen TV with a good selection of channels, digital room safe, however no mini-bar fridge. The bathroom was decent, the CFL's lend an other worldly feel to the loo.

The property was converted from Comfort Suites a few years ago. The interior hallways and rooms were renovated. Aside from the elevator, the place feels fairly new.

The best was the bed and staff. The good was the room - nice decor and in good shape. And the OK, which wasn't all that bad was the location.

“Great value and great renovated hotel”

I shared a double room with a friend and we were very pleased with the hotel. The room was nicely set up with modern furniture, the bathroom was also great looking and underground --and cheap-- parking was great because we arrived when it was still snowing.

“Great place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

We stayed here for a couple days in December on Starwood points. Free stay made it even better. It is a little northeast of downtown, but not too far, near the space needle and museums. The room was better than expected, nice and clean with new furnishings which were pretty modern. The toiletries in the shower were built into a dispinser like pump on the wall. I didn't care for the scent. The elevator was ancient! Didn't match the hotel/room at all. There was plenty of parking on the street. Warning - we went to the little cute coffee place on the corner and couldn't get the smell off our clothes all day. It smelled like rancid grease, obviously no fault of the hotel. These are picky points though. Overall, it was a great stay and nice alternative to the high priced hotels in downtown.

“Could be closer”

The Starwood website says, "minutes away from attractions".
Hmmm...this hotel is on the outskirts of the downtown. You may be dismayed by the appearance of the locale on arrival.
It's not so bad.
The area is safe to walk around, and you can see there is the promise of further development.
Places to eat are within easy walking distance - use TripAdvisor!
The Seattle Center is a longer walk, but if we could do it with our three young children, it's fine. My kids love the Space Needle.
To get to the rest of Seattle - bus, monorail, taxi, or tour - are your options. And this is my beef with the Starwood blurb - kinda misleading. If you want a hotel that is truly where it's happening, don't stay here.
Positives:
Hard-working staff will look after you, if asked. Note, there is no bellhop to take your luggage. We had to get the cart, load it, and wheel it to our room. We don't mind.
Value is good - breakfast included with the rate.
We could fit our family of five in one room.
Free WiFi and water - always welcome! This is a Four Points "thing".
