The Green Tortoise is located directly in front of Pike Place and therefore right in downtown Seattle. The rooms are small but as every bunkbed has a curtain, you feel like having your own little cabin. When you close your curtain, you'll almost have something like privacy, which is a rare thing when staying at Hostels. Every bed has a reading lamp and a fan for hot summer nights. The bathrooms are huge and clean ! The free breakfast is great even though it's only till 9.30am so if you wanna sleep in, you'll miss it, which is a shame as Belltown (the district the Hostel is located) has some groovy bars and you you'll find it hard to hit the hay at 11pm ;)
Spaceneedle, EMP, ferries and public transport are all within walking distance.
The Hostel entertainment section has plenty to offer: pubcrawls, a dead guys tour, a Seattle food tour and you can get discounts for the EMP and if going with Hostel legend Sacsha local theater/comedy/music-shows if you want to.
In the smokers lounge you'll find games and fun stuff/staff. You can even rent a bike at that place ! I seriously had an awesome time there and will return in the near future !
