“719, Fireplace”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

This room faces the courtyard and is very quiet. The fireplace is very pretty but we couldn't get anything other than the flame of the pilot light to work. I did mention this at check out. The bath in this room is huge, the largest of any of the rooms that we have had in this hotel. There is a very tall shower head in room 618 and we had requested this room in advance and confirmed it with a phone call the day before our stay. We were given 719 on check in instead and decided to explore this side of the hotel. We have been on the street side and with the door open, it is noisy but fine with it shut. We have been on the side street, which had the best balcony of all the rooms. This room has a tiny balcony and essentially no view, only of the small court yard and the apartment next door. It was necessary to keep the curtains closed because we concluded that if we could see the people in the apartments, they could see us as well. This is the first time I have been disappointed with the breakfast. There is usually some type of egg dish and this was a breakfast burrito. I am not a picky eater, but the burrito was dried out, the wrapper crispy and the sausage and egg mixture was greasy and inedible. I gave up after several bites and had the hard boiled eggs and a banana. The coffee is consistently good and I love the flavored creamer as an option. The location of this hotel and the ease of walking everywhere downtown and to the train station for the ride to the airport is the main attraction for me. I will be happy to stay again and would love to see the 9th floor next time.

Room Tip: best tall shower head 618, fireplace and huge bathroom 719, best balcony, on the side street

xterrared,

I'm glad to see that you returned so quickly since your last visit and also that you found the time to review us again. As before, thank you so much for your detailed review. I'm sure this will be helpful for our future guests. Also, we've looked into the fireplace issue and repaired it and we have discontinued the burritos so you won't see them next time.

Warm regards,

Scott

“Excellent choice”

Checked in about noon with no problems. Reception staff were courteous, nice but rather small lobby. I'm a Hilton Honors member, which I highly reccommend you join before staying at any Hilton property as they go out ot their way to put you in the best available room. They put me on the top floor with a great view of Seattle. The room was very nice and clean with a full sized refrigerator, dishwasher, two burner stove, and microwave. Also a sofa, desk with special ergonomic chair. and a very sizable room. There is also a very large closet that has it's own lighting. You can basically walk in to the closet to put your luggage. 32" LG flat panel tv, very comfortable bed, nice linens, and GREAT pillows. I only stayed one night, but if I stay in downtown Seattle again, this will definitely be on my list.

Room Tip: Join Hilton Honors before your stay and have the number put on your reservation before arrival. Che...

“Another good stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

I stay here every time I am in Seattle for business as it is a solid hotel. Friendly staff, large rooms, good breakfast in the morning and snacks & beer/wine in the evening. The room was very clean and everything worked as expected. Housekeeping did a very good job with one very minor exception - each time they left the bathroom drinking glass that had been used. The newspaper was sometimes was left by the door in the morning and sometimes it was not, so it was inconsistent throughout the week. I didn't receive a bill under the door the morning of checkout but the front desk printed one at checkout. The Convention Center is next door and the location is an easy walk to downtown and Pike Market. Look forward to returning.

“Smooth stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

I think that the parking, after tax (and valet tips) was more expensive than the expensive downtown Washington DC Hilton/HGI.

Friendly Staff.

Somewhat convoluted hhonors floor where you need to take an elevator up, then walk to another elevator that goes up one more floor, it's a bit like being punished for having status if you're wheeling baggage/equipment around.

The room was nice, though there was a large gap at the bottom of the door that let a lot of noise in from the corridor - there's always that one guy who has to use his outside voice in a hotel corridor after 11pm

I liked that the TV signal was in HD and I was glad that I got a courtyard view as the other side seemed very noisy.

NCLimey,

Thank you for the open feedback about the hotel. Our hotel does have some unique features, the separate elevator to the ninth floor is amonth them. Our parking charge, while high compared to other US cities, is lower than other downtown hotels. I am pleased that you found our room amenities satisfactory and we hope to see you the next time you return to Seattle.

Warm regards,

Scott

“Nice rooms, but parking overpriced”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

Love the convenience of having a kitchen (not that I was planning to cook) with microwave and refrigerator. Very comfortable bed with a split of feather and foam pillows - a little odd to have such a large room with just a queen bed. Good water pressure in the shower is always a plus, but no hand-held shower head. Ample counter space in the bathroom and kitchen. Parking was totally overpriced (I guess because of the convention center nearby) - advertised as $32 on the website, but that doesn't include about $7 of tax - valet is the only option. As others have commented, traffic noise is an issue, even though I wasn't facing the highway. Major disappointment was that the ice cream bars in the pantry must have melted at some point in time, because there was a puddle in the wrapper, outside the chocolate :-( They did refund the charge (we opened several and all had the same problem), but that didn't satisfy my dessert fix. If your business isn't downtown, it is very convenient to get on the I-5.
