“Five Stars!!!”

I stayed here for 3 nights while visiting Seattle. I was traveling alone so I was happy to be among people for a change. I took the room in 107 which was an attic style room. It was amazing!!!
I had a wonderful time in a Seattle style house rather than a hotel. The charm of this place, you really can't buy. It is lovely to relax in the morning or afternoon in the lounge areas, just walking around the house was fun, it was just so pretty! Or relaxing by the pool, talking to people in there was also nice.
Had a shared bathroom with another room, not once did we run into each other so it was like my own.
Wifi was exceptional and the room was just so cozy!!!
Bennett, you are what no hotel has...personality and charm and passion for Seattle! I really enjoyed speaking with you and talking about what Seattle has to offer. I had an idea of the things I wanted to see, but after speaking with Bennett he gave me other places to see around the area like Volunteer park, and the water tower with the view of the Space Needle.
The inn is in close walking distance to Seattle downtown, you can take the bus but I chose to walk a lot to keep fit and take the neighbourhood in. You can't get that in a car or bus.
There are restaurants, supermarkets, starbucks all a few blocks up from the Inn so you have plenty to chose from if you want to stick close by. At night I liked to sit on balcony and look at the buildings all lit up...you could even just see the top of the Space Needle lit up if you are tall enough or have a chair to stand on to see past the house behind.
Basically here, you are staying in Seattle, but you have the added bonus of a residential feel as well. I really felt like I was in an episode of Grey's Anatomy...and I loved it!
See you when I am back on the west coast of the states Bennett, will definitely be staying here again!!! You are amazing!!!

“Just the BEST!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

Everything about the Gaslight Inn is "Just The Best"!!....starting with the friendliest Innkeeper. Steve Bennett made me feel like he was welcoming me home. He truly projects a love for making each guest's visit special. Everyone is helpful, the accommodations wonderfully comfortable, and the continental breakfast fabulous. The Inn itself is like spending time in a fabulous victorian art museum with fantastic views. The backyard, complete with a beautiful pool, is a real Oasis in the city. I can't wait to return!

Room Tip: Each room is unique and they are happy to make a suggestion based on your personal needs.

I stay often in Seattle and always look forward to my home away from home at The Gaslight, the architectually designed home is extremely well maintained as well as the gardens. It seems they must have improved there internet as I had full access 24/7 for free unusual this day in age. The Innkeeper and housekeepers are always pleasant and ready and willing to assist in any way they can to help enhance my stay. Thumbs up, I would reccommend The Gaslight as your next place to stay in Seattle.....

Room Tip: Room 106 for a view, Room 105 for a deck and view, Room 104 for large living and bedroom area.

“Perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 December 2011

A place like the Gaslight Inn is becoming harder and harder to find. Rarely does one find customer service like this. They have really thought of everything, and if they haven't, just tell them. They appreciate the feedback and do what is necessary to make the changes. The continental breakfast is fantastic.... the best of what simplicity can offer...great scones, croissants, and fresh skillet jam are just a few of the highlights. The view is impeccable, Internet is fast, and the place is walking distance from downtown. Oh, and I cannot forget to mention the awesome Irish guy, Steve, the owner. He not only cares about your experience, but also definitely has a pulse check on the city and the hood and can give great recommends for food and such.

“Outstanding for a first trip to Seattle, even in the winter!”

The archetype of a B&B. Perfect amount of food in the morning (if you want a full breakfast, there are plenty of choices within easy walking distance). Great beds and hot showers. Fantastic views. What more could you want?

We stayed in 107 (top floor, panoramic view of downtown) and 105 a few days later (right below 107, with its own private deck and the same view). Every room is slightly different. There is a HUGE common area on the main floor filled with amazing modern art, much of it glass.

Steve the innkeeper is a ball of energy and has owned the building for over 40 years. He knows everything about the area, so be sure to ask him for suggestions about places to eat or sites to see.

Of note for business travelers: a new wireless network was installed right before we got there. Not sure if they got a fiber connection or what, but it's blazingly fast. I pulled 30Mbit/sec on a speedtest. Good signal in the rooms in which we stayed.

I love this place and will definitely return.

Room Tip: The rooms higher up and on the back side (facing downtown) have the best views and are quietest.
