“Nice stay, but extras cost.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

We had a nice Seattle snow/icestorm that took out power to 300K+ people. After staying home in the cold, we decided to get a hotel room and warm up and charge our toys. I called them on the phone and asked for a executive suite. The girl insisted that all of their rooms were suites. When I got there, we were given a standard suite. That's OK, but I did want the step up.

The hotel room was nice, and the service was good. When we went to get dinner, I stopped at the front desk and asked for a couple of extra pillows. They were delivered to our room while we were gone.

While using the pool, I almost slipped on the pool deck. I wasn't the only one, I saw several other people almost take a fall. They need to do a different surface in the pool area. When it gets wet, it's downright dangerous. I'm surprised they haven't had a lawsuit yet.

My daughter ended up forgetting her watch in the pool area. The following morning during checkout, I asked at the front desk, and thankfully, someone had turned it in. The clerks were very nice when I asked if the watch was turned in.

The free breakfast in the morning was good/bad. Since the hotel was crowded, they setup a second serving area for the hot food (pancakes, french toast, sausage/bacon/eggs). Although it was a nice thought, all the food in the second area ended up being cold. If I would have looked harder before getting breakfast, I would have stood in line longer for the hot food. The rest of the food availability was nice.

The internet is an extra charge at this hotel, but since I am a Hilton Gold member, that was free. Parking was also an extra charge, and being a Hilton member doesn't help you on that one. I have no idea why they charge for parking. It is nothing special, and they own the lot. I can't think of any obvious reason other than taking an extra $10 from you.

If we end up with another lengthy power outage, we would stay here again.

Room Tip: All rooms are suites. So the bedroom is separate from the living area which is nice for privacy whe...

“Good airport hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

We stayed here for one night following an Alaska cruise and found the hotel to be a pretty easy going airport hotel, with reasonably good access to the airport as well as good access to the monorail. Like most airport hotels, the hotel is pretty much in the middle of nowhere. However, they are pretty generous with their courtesy shuttle and will take you, with the free shuttle, to the monorail station from which you can get very easily to downtown Seattle. We also used the courtesy shuttle to go to a shopping area that had several decent chain restaurants (e.g., Cheesecake factory) as well as a pretty good Thai restaurant. Another pleasant surprise: our room had an exercise bike right in the room and the room itself was larger than typical Embassy suites rooms.

Room Tip: The hotel staff is pretty nice about making the courtesy shuttle available for trips to the monorail...

Good day, and thank you for your nice review. We host many "cruisers" :) throughout the summer and receive consistent praise for our shuttle service as you mentioned and convenience to the mall, lightrail, and airport. Thanks for sharing a comment about our suites as well...we have quite a few unique room types and it was nice to hear you enjoyed the exercise bike. Hope you had an enjoyable Alaskan cruise!

“Charging for parking now!!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

This hotel is so handy for us to use. However, I will more than likely look for another hotel (and ther are several in this area) next time we are here.. Most of the hotel has been updated except where you eat. That definately needs it. We were shocked that this hotel is now taking on the attitude of the airlines and charging for everying. I am used to paying for parking in downtown locations; ie Seattle, DC, etc. However Tukwila, Washington ??? We complained and received 2 nights waived out of 4. The other major complaint is the heat in the room. We could not turn it down enough and were forced to open windows, thus listening to the train noise from 100 yards away for 4 nights. Our toilet did not flush properly, so my husband, the plumber lifted the lid to find a washrag in there??? They fixed this immediately and I thank them. This hotel is loosing its spark.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a room away from the train side, unless you are a SOUND sleeper.

“very nice stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

was going to give a 5, but realized they charged both internet and parking, in which i thought it was unnecessary.

overall the stay was very nice, great value, courteous staff, great breakfast in the morning, location was decent.

we stayed for 3 nights, even did the laundry in the hotel. i saw another guest who mentioned he took the wifi from another hotel, unfortunately, i was not able to do that.

pleasant, family oriented, would definitely suggest people to stay there.

“Great for the price!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

Stayed here two nights with my husband at the end of December (Wed and Thurs). We checked in around 10:30pm without any issues. It was quick and easy. They did tell us that parking would be $10/day and internet was $9.95 or $14.95 depending on which speed you wanted. We were assigned a room on the third floor, king bed, non smoking. Our room was great. There is a living room with couch, desk, and TV that is separated from the bedroom and bathroom. There is a little sink area outside of the bathroom with mini fridge and microwave. The bedroom was a little small. The bed took up most of the space, but it was fine. The bathroom was average in size and came with crabtree & evelyn shampoo/conditioner/soap/body wash.
Do keep in mind that there is a train nearby in the area and you will hear it periodically throughout your stay. You will also hear noise in the atrium if you are in the living room area. We couldn't hear the atrium from the bedroom. This seems to be the hotel of choice for high school and college teams. There were a bunch of teenagers gathering in the lobby and atrium area at night talking and having fun.
Breakfast during the weekdays is from 6-9am. I don't know why breakfast ends so early on the weekdays. On the weekends, breakfast is served from 7-10am. We had breakfast on one day and it was really good. There was a line for the hot food, where they take your omelet order. You also get to choose from pancakes, hashbrowns, scrambled eggs, sausage, and bacon. There is also the usual stuff like muffins, yogurt, and fresh fruit. It's a really decent breakfast with good selection. There seemed to be enough seating for everyone.

If you miss breakfast, there is a bunch of fast food restaurants down the road. I think I saw a Jack in the Box and Taco Bell and a 7-11 store. The hotel is also close to Southcenter Shopping mall, a Target, and Costco. The hotel is right off the 405. We found the hotel's location to be very convenient. Parking spaces are a little cramped and some cars parked crooked or took up 2 spaces. It was a little annoying having to pay extra for parking when there is a lot of parking available. I also think that internet should be complimentary.

We got this hotel through priceline for $41/night. It's a great deal and would stay again for that price.

Thank you for sharing your experience; I was happy to see you enjoyed your accommodations and all our amenities like our nightly reception and cook to order breakfast. It may be helpful for other travelers as well to know that while we charge a minimal amount to park overnight, we have security cameras and also dedicated security attendants, this as well is a unique value add. Our fee is substantially lower than the other full service airport properties and we are always happy to provide complimentary transportation 24 / 7 to and from the airport. We are a short 3 miles from the airport and that also eliminates flight traffic noise. Take care and thanks again for writing such a detailed review!
