“A let down!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 June 2012 NEW

They advertise this hotel as romantic luxury hotel and I booked a night with my hubby. I payed for a "premium room" which was one of the smallest rooms I have ever stayed in. There was water damage on the ceiling, causing the paneling to separate and droop. The ventilation system "buzzed" all night like a dryer, couldn't turn it off. In a nice location, but they charge a ton for parking. The lobby and restaurant are very nice. I will never stay here again, it is WAY OVERPRICED for what you get. Going to Seattle again next weekend and gonna try Hotel 1000.

“Best kid-friendly hotel even without a pool!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 May 2012 NEW

My kids loved this place! It was hard to get them to behave like they weren't at home, because they just felt like they were. Everyone was so friendly and accomodating, even the guests on the elevator.

Room Tip: No pool. But my kids loved the checkers in the lobby.

“Waterfront in Seattle”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 May 2012 NEW

This is the ONLY hotel in downtown Seattle that is right on the water (literally).
It is a rustic, yet modern hotel. The rooms are very rustic with fireplaces and log beds. But I appreciated that the bathroom was updated modern touches. The carpet in our room could be updated though.
I reserved a room with a water view and we also had a balcony, which is worth EVERY PENNEY!!! We had breakfast (room service) one morning on it, enjoying the Amazing view and it was a beautiful sunny day. Make sure to request a room away from the pier, because when a cruise ship is in, that will be your view, and your privacy is reduced.

We ate twice at Six Seven, which I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! It is a beautiful restaurant right on the water. I loved the modern decor with a touch of rustic. Brilliant!
We had dinner one night, and brunch on Sunday. Everything we had was outstanding!
Lobster mac and cheese, grilled blue marlin, king crab risotto, rosemary pana cotta, triple chocolate mousse, apple pancakes, crab fritatta, etc. My mouth is watering thinking about how flavorful the food is!

The hotel has a free van shuttle service to take you to wherever you want to go in downtown Seattle, which is a nice service.

The price we paid for our waterside room was worth every Penney, but I could not see myself spending that kind of money with a view of the parking lot and train.

I will stay at the Edgewater again the next time I am in Seattle! Perhaps a suite with a balcony though.

Room Tip: Book a waterside room, away from the pier. When a cruise ship is in, it becomes your view.

“Overrated and overpriced”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 May 2012 NEW

Not a bad hotel if you get a reduced rate, but really not a 4 star. Halls and carpets beat up, but bathroooms appear to be updated, so maybe there is a rolling upgrade in progess. Convenient to the cruise ships, but not the place to be if you want to avoid thousands of tourists jockeying with their oversized roller bags. Standard rooms are tiny and noisy from trains and road noise. They have no shear curtains, so if you don't want to be on display to teh street you must close the heavy drapes. The big suites on the water side avoid these problems, but are expensive. Decor bizzare--grandma's attic meets faux lodge with stainless steel modern on the side. The restaurant is merely adequate, but priced as high as the best restaurants. Definitely not a place any local would go--Seattle has wonderful restaurants in town. Parking price ourageous, 1.5 times what you pay right downtown, and here you are on the fringe of town. I don't mind walking up the steep hill to get to town, but be aware there are some dicey areas of Western and First that you may not want to walk through alone. I was accosted several times returning to the hotel at 8PM. Shuttle jam-packed and runs hourly, so plan some wait time for that option.

Room Tip: Get water side if you can get a fair price for a 3 star. Don't stay there if all you can afford...

“Perfect Location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 May 2012

My wife & I stayed here for 1 night in a water view room as part of our Wedding Anniversary vacation. It is quite expensive, but it is a luxury hotel in every sense & you cannot beat the location (especially if you are going to take the Victoria Clipper the next day as we did). Everything in the city is in easy walking distance. The service here is exceptional from the doormen to the reception counter -- we had them schedule an airport pick-up & store our bags until we went to the ferry in the afternoon, no issues. Our water view room had a wonderful view of the ship loading docks & Mt. Rainier -- a cruise ship came in the next morning & blocked half the view, but you can still easily see out to Bainbridge Island from the balcony. We slept with the balcony door open & really didn't have any problems with noise, we could hear the train but it wasn't that loud (it is a big city afterall). Also, we ate breakfast in the restaurant -- the views & the food were excellent.
We recommend this place to anyone willing to splurge a little on their vacation.
