Our group of six ladies stayed here prior to beginning our trek on the Chilkoot Trail. The hosts are unfailingly helpful. The cabins are cozy and comfortable, both breakfast and supper were excellent and the location encourages meeting others around the campfire or exploring the area on the complimentary bicycles. It's one of our fondest memories of our Alaska/Canada adventure.

Looking for a place where the food is fabulous, the rooms are clean, cozy cabins, the atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed, and the owners go the extra mile in service and friendliness? You've found it in the Chilkoot Trail Outpost! Our family of 7 stayed here in August of 2011. Our only regret was that we didn't stay longer!! Kathy and Fred will help you with any information or travel arrangements you need. Our large group required a cabin located away from the main lodge and cabins, and Fred kindly went with us to show the way. The campfire and s'mores in the evening are a special addition to any stay. The buildings are gorgeous log construction, adding to your Alaska travel experience. The food is delicious - they made breakfast (yummm - pancakes, scrambled eggs and ham, fruit, juices, and more) early for us so we could meet our schedule. For the great service, kind friendship, beautiful scenery and impeccably clean lodge and rooms, don't miss this place!

Planning on going to SKagway Alaska ?
You have to stay at the Chilkoot Trail Outpost.
Extremely friendly owners, they even made breakfast earlier for us to make the ferry.
We spent two nights here in August of this year and really enjoyed ourselves.
On our first night, we had dinner at the Outpost and met people from other parts of the world and had a terrific time. Not far from here you can go and see the salmon running in the stream and if lucky, see a grizzly catching his dinner.
If we make it back this way, we know where were staying.

Kathy and Fred know the history of the sourrounding area like only long time residents can. Thier excellent lodge and cabins, nestled beside the mountains in Dyea, away form the hustle and bustle of Skayway are a welcome Oasis for travellers. Evenings around the fire pit having a beer and sharing experiences of your trip, or listening to Fred talk about the origin of the many artifacts displayed around the property is an unforgettable experience. Kathy and Fred are very knowledgable about local tours and attractions, and go the extra effort to book your adventures for you. The Cabins and lodge are immaculately kept, and the food is superb. We took the hikers package in mid-August, and our expectations where blown out of the water.
