I've been a "regular" in this place for almost 10 years now; I've been spending more time in France the last 5 years or so, so I now stay here about 10 to 12 nights a year, half of the time dining in the hotel restaurant and the other half at Restaurant Greuze, also in Tournus.

The hotel is immaculately kept, modern, and comfortable. It is a 2 star place under French rating system and in my extensive experience with French hotels, I'd put this place near to the top of the 2* places. They don't have an elevator which precludes them from getting the 3rd star. The free WiFi works well in the lobby and in some of the hotel rooms (although this might have been improved by the time you read this).

Tournus is a charming southern Burgundian village, and the area is well worth a visit. The family that runs this place, plus their employees (most of whom have worked here for a very long time) are very warm and welcoming. And the restaurant is superb. I'll write separate review of the restaurant in the restaurant section.

We had a good night in one of the cheapest room(66 euro) :free wi-fi,clean small room,flat TV with only French channels,no safe and minibar,relatively soundproofed(we didn't heard the highway but some noise from the corridor),nice breakfast (12,50 euro) but no cooked dish.
We have happy memories of the restaurant!

We picked the hotel off the internet after a change in plans, and it was serendipity. Our room was cheerful, bright, clean and comfortable--great beds. Our aperitif in the bar included a tasty, well-presented snack, and our meal for a mere 30 euros apiece plus wine was the most interesting, best-presented, tastiest meal we've had in a long, long time,. The young chef is just terrific. The view isn't much, and there is no elevator, but the quality of the welcome compensates for any slight inconvenience. We'll go back to the Hotel Aux Terrasses

Difficult to fault the meal or the service. Highly recommended.
