“Don’t just come and sleep – spend as much time as possible”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 September 2010

Most charming and romantic place to stay on Fyn – best recommendations’.

I have stayed here 5 or 6 times, each time in different rooms in the main building; it is indeed a wonderful, charming and very romantic place.

Don’t just come and sleep – spend as much time as possible.

Arrive early, have tea/coffee and cake in the beautiful gardens (or one of the many charming rooms insight) Enjoy a full menu from the exquisite restaurant, is also a must.

Do remember to take a walk around their beautiful garden/park and the little lake – it’s very picturesque.

“Beautiful stay at Steensgaard”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 August 2007

We stayed one night in this wonderful Country Manor and loved it. The timing of our stay worked out very well as there were only two other parties staying that night. This allowed us to stay in one of the larger suites with full bath, at the same price. A stay at Steensgaard in not inexpensive. It was the most expensive location we visited in two weeks in Sweden and Denmark. What atmosphere though!! The grounds are beautifully maintained; the main pension building impressive and the interiors very warm and comfortable. The room furnishings themselves showed a bit of wear but the bed was very nice and the full bath was a treat we had not expected. My wife and I had a great stay and the splurge was worth it.

If you visit, you must try the restaurant for dinner. It is a bit pricey but what a great experience. I would highly recommend both food and service.

“absolutely charming”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 August 2007

Delightful country estate hotel oozing with history. Perfect grounds & very appealing common rooms in the main building where you can read, take tea or drinks etc. The restaurant in itself is a raeson to come here. Its very quiet & relaxing but only a short drive from Faborg & also very near Egeskov Slot which I'd highly recommend. We would definitely return.

“quiet restful place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2006

This is a very nice country estate and intended for those looking to get away from the city. It is very quiet and you will be in bed very early. No televisions etc.... Property is very picturesque and views from the windows are great. There is no airconditioning but that is the norm in Denmark.

We stayed here for one night in a double room in the main house that was a bit dated but still nice. The bathroom was just ok with laminate floors but the bed was very comfortable. Shower pressure was just ok. We chose this property over Falsled Kro due to the price difference in the rooms---we paid ca. 200 Euros. Dinner was still expensive (200E+) as it is at Falsled Kro but good. Breakfast was just adequate---not much selection. Staff are few in number but very attentive.

“Magnificent Country Estate”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 May 2006

This is a magnificent country estate in an area of lovely rolling hills, a short distance from the coast. There is a lake and formal gardens and the estate still functions as working dairy farm. The main building is a fine manor house with beautiful public rooms. There is an excellent dining room. Rooms in the main building are lovely and up to date. There is a large annex with new rooms that are comfortable but are lacking in any character. These rooms allow one to enjoy the manor at a more reasonable rate, but may disappoint. We paid $275 for a large room in the main house on a walk in basis.
