I specifically went to Strakonice for a festival, and this was the only hotel I could find online before my trip. The lobby was decent, if a bit bare, and the staff helpful. The room was another story. The bedding and towels were worn, but clean. The furniture and accessories were old and very worn. It looked as if the room had been cleaned, but never used so there was a thin veneer of dust. I had to call to have someone fix the toilet, and one window had to be rigged to stay open. The breakfast buffet was sad - not much other than baked goods and a bit of meat and cheese, not even fruit for the yogurt. Location was right on the river in the center of town, so that is good. In general, the hotel reminded me of some grand dame that had seen better days, a bit like Dickens' Miss Haversham. It seemed they tried, but the whole place needs a major update so bad, that it was kind of sad.
