This motel shows a good deal of wear.
Pros: Towels were surprisingly thick, plentiful and good.
The location is convenient, but then Seward is hardly large enough for a bad location.
Despite being by the main road, it seemed quiet, even with the very long daylight hours.
Parking is adequate and complimentary.

Cons: the carpet, bedding and furnishings are worn. All have a somewhat unclean feel.
The rooms are very small.
The bathroom is especially tiny, with NO counter space.
No landscaping or view of anything.
They required full payment upon checkin - despite obvious vacancies every day. I did not ask if a refund was possible for an early checkout.
Rooms are supposed to be 'No Smoking' but have a mild tobacco odor.
No food available on the premises.

One further warning: the place is for sale as a 'turnkey operation'. Apparently the owner thinks the place is at it's peak in top condition. I could suggest otherwise. A new owner could, of corse, raise or further lower the standard.

Right off the road and near the docks (we walked to our cruise and saved $10.00 parking fee). Clean, comfortable beds. Small bathroom. One of the few places you can stay for under $100.00/night during high season. Helpful staff. I would stay here again.

Armed only with a rental car full of stuff we left Anchorage about 9pm in search of something to do. Our goal was Seward, but were not sure we'd make it all the way, for the event we got side tract en route. Regardless, we arrived in Seward pretty late and our options for accommodations were limited. Seems rooms started at about $150 here plus an exorbitant tax which hikes the rates nicely. We did a little searching, but eventually landed here at the Marina Motel about 12.30a (and it was still light out!) Services were friendly and the rates resonable. Free wi-fi and a fridge in the room. For $115 + tax we were willing to call it a night - it beat the alternatives $165 for an equally minimal room at Murphy's or the backseat of our VW Bug rental.
The next morning we used our wi-fi to look for a better option, but everything was pretty well booked up (poor planning on our end, but hey we were in it for the adventure!) Since we popped open our bags and three weeks worth of stuff exploded out we deceided to keep the room for two more nights.
Views are pleasant, close to a few restaurants, near boat and kayak tours, and close to the grocery store.
No complaints, it's just fine.
