We fell in love with Seward, ABC and George; our host. Alaska Base Camp is perfect for couples or families, absolutely spotless and ideally located. The view was stunning. I could have spent a week simply sitting on the deck looking at Resurrection Bay. There is plenty to do in the area: hiking, fishing, kayaking, Kenai Fjords NP trips and well situated on the Kenai peninsula. We wish we had more time in Seward. George is a long time resident with plenty of suggestions/help. His fishing charter recommendation was perfect for the family. What a terrific host! Can't think of a single thing to improve this property!

Our family of four stayed at the Alaska Base Camp for three days, and absolutely loved everything about it. The accomodations were lovely and clean. The proprietor George was an absolute gentleman and pleasure to meet. He couldn't do enough for us, to ensure a wonderful stay. And, to top it all off, the location and surroundings were simply spectacular..beautifully situated on Resurrection bay. Nicely located right next door is Liquid Adventures, kayaking company. We did the "Aiailk Adventure" tour and it was THE highlight of our entire vacation. A definite must do for anyone visiting Alaska....and no, you do not need to have any kayaking experience to enjoy this. Without question, this was the highlight of our cruise, and ten days in Alaska. Thank you George, for making this a family experience we will cherish forever.

I stayed in Alaska Base Camp in May 2009 with my friends. We love this place so much. We considered it as the best hotel we stayed for our Alaska trip. The yurt are big and clean. The beds are comfortable. You could hear the wave and the sea lions (I guess) at night.

George, the owner, was the best. He was very nice and helpful. He gave us a lot of suggestions. We had a long talk before making a reservation because he wanted to make sure that we knew what kind of accomdation we reserved for. I was very impressed with how he cared.

My daughter found this place on tripadvisor. They had introduced me to Yurts in 2008 when we went to California. This one was awesome. George was a great host. He is friendly, the place is spacious and clean. We had a beautiful view of the mountains and water from the deck and took walks on the beach which was just steps away. I wish we would have had more than two days to stay here. If I ever go back, this will be the place I booked. Also, we had 4 adults and had plenty of room!!!
