“Luxury Hotel with soul and friendly staff!”

I stayed at Villa Andrea in July 2011. The hotel is perfect - very warm, luxury, designed, has been brought almost to perfection in the details .... Our room was a double with side sea view. Quite spacious, with 16 TV channels, a small fridge, wi-fi /(in the entire hotel is free of charge and they have two computers with free internet access for guests without laptops). Extremely clean hotel with excellent service. We were impressed with our room, especially with the wall hangings made upon traditional costume of Tucepi and Tucepi traditional earrings. Brilliant detail!

Villa Andrea has a Restaurant called 'Olive Tree' for half board services but also for a-la-carte service.
Again, we were impressed. Design of menus, kindness of staff, quality of food is certainly the best in Tucepi. Dishes are based again on the tradition, history and authentic dishes with the chef's modern signature. Incredible richness of taste and smell, the original flavor, carefully chosen ingredients. The menu with excellent selection of wines and great olive oil extra virgin list.
One detail for the end - the souvenir shop. Just original and quality stuff from all over Croatia (I mean Croatia, not China!).
Certainly we will come back next year!

“Lovely place to stay - we hope to return”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 July 2011

We stayed in the junior suite which had a lovely big balcony and was relatively private - it made our stay! We had our 2 young children with us and they slept in the "living area". There was a large area to play in the room, the balcony was suitable, the hotel child friendly and it all worked brilliantly.

The hotel is situated at one end of the bay - the opposite end to most of the package hotels and we felt it was the nicer end of the bay - although the pebbles are larger on the beach, whereas the other end is more like shingle.

It is not far to the restaurants or bars or the supermarket and marina so ideally placed.

The restaurant was nice - we had half board for the first 5 nights but then opted out - we found the 7pm start a bit too late for our kids so it was always more fraught than necessary. Also, whilst the food served was nicely done, we preferred to pay the same but choose exactly what we would like. Choosing from the menu at breakfast was more limiting. The soup, appetiser and dessert were provided without any choice but you could choose between 2 fish mains or 2 meat mains. Like I said, nicely done, but in the end we preferred to wander along and choose dinner at an earlier time.

We'd definitely recommend this hotel - it has everything you need, staff are friendly, perfect location and the garage with bikes and sun loungers/mats for guests to use is fab.

“A very relaxing holiday”

We have just returned from 10 days at Villa Andrea. Along with the other reviews we had a very enjoyable holiday. The staff were charming, efficient and friendly, food good and we would recommend it. We had a very large bedroom with balcony and lovely sea views. My only criticism would be that our bed was very creaky, but it wasn't to soft for us as other reviewers have said, that is a personal preference. We would have also preferred that there was a no smoking policy in the dining room and in the bedrooms.

Hello

first I want to thank you for your review ! We tray to find the reason why a few guests had creaky bed since last winter we had a major renovation and changed absolutely everything;
mattresses, beds ....
And we found the reason. Discovered a total of four such beds, and the reason is technical in a factory they made mistake .
So we change that beds but I didn't had time before to put my respond !

“Chraming hotel, great location and exceptional service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 June 2011

We stayed at Villa Andrea for 8 nights in May. The location was perfect - overlooking the beach at the quiet end of the promenade in Tucepi. Tecupei is a lovely sea-side town with seven small hamlets (upper Tucepi) on the hillside. It's a short stroll into town where there are plenty of outdoor restaurants overlooking the water -or a challenging walk through the old stone hamlets that make up upper Tucepi.

The service at the hotel was exceptional. The owners and staff were incredibly friendly and helpful – providing maps, recommending and arranging tours, suggesting restaurants and arranging for a scooter rental. Before coming, I emailed the resort asking for directions from the bus stop and to my surprise and delight they had a taxi waiting to pick us up - no charge. We were offered a welcome drink and plate of figs on arrival.

Restaurant: We couldn’t decide if we wanted ½ board or not so we had a combination - ½ board some nights, a-la-carte others and other nights we ate in restaurants in Tucepi. The food and service in the restaurant is very good – easily as good or better than any of the restaurants in Tucepi. I highly recommend the ½ board option – it provides excellent value - a five course meal in a lovely setting. For a-la-carte, try the Peka - a traditonal meat dish. My only complaint – and this was true of virtually all restaurants we visited in Croatia - has to do with smoking. Outdoor restaurants and bars are sometimes so smoky that dinner becomes a very unpleasant experience. If the patio had been non-smoking it would have been a perfect dining experience.

Rooms. This is not a luxery hotel - but the rooms are comfortable and clean. We had a room with balcony facing the sea. It was wonderful to sit out in the morning coffee in hand to watch the fish jumping. It had everything we needed, including a fridge, coffee maker and a drying rack on the balcony to dry swimsuits, towels and washing. I have to agree with an earlier reviewer who said that the bed was too soft and creaked when you moved. However, it did not keep us from getting a good night’s sleep. We noticed renovations going on in other rooms while we were there so perhaps the renovations will include bed upgrades.

Ammenities. Free wireless is provided throughout the hotel and a computer is avialable in the lobby. The hotel provides daybeds and umbrellas for lounging at the beach and eight brand-new bikes were available for guests’ use. We used them on several occasions – for short rides into town and longer ride through trails into Makarska and Podgora. We had originally planned an active holiday of walking, hiking and cycling but found that the mid-day temperatures were too high – and so we ended up spending more time at the beach then originally planned. The pebble beach in front of the hotel is quiet and peaceful, the water is crystal-clear and warm enough for swimming in May. Water shoes are a must.
Over all, a very enjoyable stay – highly recommended.

“A gem of a hotel with great staff”

We stayed at the Villa Andrea in Tucepi for seven nights at the end of September. From the moment we arrived the staff were helpful and friendly, always a smile and glsd to be of help. Our room was spotless. The location of the hotel at the quiet end of the promenade in Tucepi meant for a good night's sleep even with the windows open. The food at the hotel was great, especially the fish. All in all a find and good value.
