“Getting old”

Great location have been coming for several years, but this property is getting well used needs a refresh, our owner fees go up and up but the service gets less and less, no wonder people don't pay there maintenance fees, this year it was almost $ 1500. For a week. At Paniola I pay $700. For a week... Go figure.. The staff is awesome, stay away from the timeshare presentation they'll eat you alive.

“My favorite home away from home”

We have owned a one week timeshare here for 12 years. We just returned from a 10 day stay. It is a quiet location (away from downtown Kona). At the end of each day we walk down the road until it ends, sit on the rock wall with a glass of wine and watch the sunset while the humpback whales breach and spy hop. It is heaven. All the appliances have been recently replaced and so have all the kitchen utensils. The gas BBQs work great. The parking is a little bit of a walk from the units but you get use to it and you can always ask the office to send an electric cart for you if you need help. By having the cars away from the units it keeps the living space peaceful and quiet. There is a grocery store near by (less than 1 mile) and there is a harbor at the end of the road if you want to rent a kayak or standup board. It is a very short walk to the old Sheraton to see the Mantas at night playing in the lights off the hotel. I can't wait until my next trip.

Room Tip: There are a few units which have more floor space, ask for these ahead of time if you have more than...

“Great, great, great”

We just returned from 2 weeks here. Four of us occupied a 2 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath unit. We all loved it - great. The pool was just outside our unit and hardly used. It was like having a private pool - great. The staff was fabulous - knowledgeable, friendly, courteous, helpful. The location was great - away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to the "town center" (you need a car on this Island). The restaurants were reasonable and we found a small restaurant on Route 11 called Teshima's that had a $6.75 breakfast, consisting of 2 eggs, meat, toast or rice, a pancake and coffee. Not far from our unit and worth the trip. We had a wonderful vacation and would stay here again on our next visit to this wonderful Island.

Room Tip: The sofa bed (livingroom) in the one bedroom unit is not comfortable for sleeping. If there are 4 o...

“Quiet, spacious and well-equipped.”

We stayed her for a week with my extended family occupying two separate apartments. (2 bd, 2bth each). Nice and private, quiet and away from the traffic of town, but close enough to get anywhere. The unit next to ours (they are situated in groupings of 4 or 5 two-story units) was owned by the inhabitants, so I believe the grouping has a combination of owned/occupied, time-share and regualar rental. The staff was very helpful, the pools scattered around so one was always nearby. Tennis on site and we were surrounded by a nice golf course. Just a 5 minute walk downhill takes you to Keauhou bay where there are sport-fishing, manta ray snorkeling and other water tours. Someone complained about the decor. Yeah, it's mid-eighties, but we were gone so much no one cared and it was clean. The staff quickly responded to a broken screen as well. I will stay here again. The only improvement I really need is better bathroom lighting and perhaps and exhaust fan. My sleep quality complaint has to do with hard beds and giant pillows, that is a subjective complaint.

“Love it! Best Find ever!”

Mauna Loa Village as a part of our timeshare and it was prefer for our little family for a week vaca. Quiet, home like atmosphere, private pool areas. we are in driving distance and maybe walikng distance to beaches and main market places, and must sees places. The units were very clean and spacious. The staff was very accomodating and welcoming. The concierge, Howard did a fantastic job setting us up with the perfect tours for us. He is the best. One thing he said we couldn't do the whole island in a week.... Well we did and had so much fun doing it! (hehe). The decor seems to be outdated but if you think about it... what would the decor on a beautful island look like. I really like it and my kids did too. We had a wonderful time.

Room Tip: all thing rooms are nice and it seemed that every room had a view. Not of the beach but the landscap...
