We check into a beautiful 2 bedroom suite that had a very musty odour. We were told the climate was humid and some rooms smelled that way. Went shopping for febreeze, while spraying the hallway, stepped on wet carpet below vent and then went on to discover mold in kitchen vent. At bedtime, we discovered ants (lots of them) in our bed. Called front desk, security came and said we had to move out of 421. Upon a visual inspection of the next room, 310, we also discovered many ants. Off to 312. Ants in kitchen, which we dealt with by buying raid. This was first room that did not smell musty. Front desk apologized and we were told Carol would be contacting us. The only contact was "hope to see you at the pool later" and that was as good as it got. We were not able to attend due to other committments. No further attempt to contact us in regard to our stay, ant or mould problem. View was great and Kona hospitality was awsome. I don't beleive that all the hotels have ants and mould just because! More detail to cleanliness could be applied. Corners and hard to reach places were far from clean. Most hotels would supply a complimentary something to show some kind of remorse for their short comings.
