“Great For Families”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

We love the Starwood selections of Hotels and have stayed at this Sheraton a few times now.

It is one of the few that have a large water slide and small slide plus a combination of pool and hot tub areas. The sports desk has a few toys to checkout including water volleyball equipment. There is tons of deck space and a few cabanas for rent. The pool wait staff is very nice, and the food choices were medium priced and really tasty. There is a kiddie area that is a 'sandy bottom pool' but more like pebble bottom- plus a small splash pad.

They had a few sand volleyball courts (but we were told they were more like liter boxes for the local cats) They seemed to have a lot of local residents practicing there when we stayed.

The hotel parking is outside and most times we got a great close spot. The rooms are really spread out so it was a hike for some of us to get from car to room. The room numbers and wings were really confusing to us.

The rooms are nice - all of them had their own Lanai's (aka:Hawaiian balcony) and flat screen TVs with free bottled water and small fridge. The bathtub could use an update or replacement. We did find a small cockroach in our room and tiny gecko on the lanai (but we had lived in Hawaii for a few years before.... and we came to the realization there is no amount of pesticides in the world that can let you escape that).

Prices are reasonable and location is ok - kind of out of the way but not too bad. We traveled with a large group of kids of all ages and they loved the pools. Valet staff was nice, always got our doors if we were dropping off people. They have a kids club room - but we never had time to use it.

We only stay here a few days before or after our Waikoloa house or condo rentals begin - and it always fits our needs and makes up keep coming back! Alooooha

Aloha! We’re so pleased that we have been able to match your needs and expectations time after time. Your mention of our pools and family activities is greatly appreciated. At Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa we have fun things to do for every age and interest. For the Keiki & Teens, the teen lounge is a big hit with ping pong tables, televisions, Xbox gaming systems & a Wii and of course there is our multi-leveled pool system with a children’s sandy-bottomed area. We will be looking forward to your next visit. Mahalo!

“Two Relaxing Days :)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

We spent 2 relaxing days here after driving from the other side of the island after staying 3 nights at a bed and breakfast that has a great web site, but in my opinion didn't deliver all that was stated.

I had booked 2 ocean view rooms (one for my wife and myself and the other for my sister). When we were checking in, they had upgraded both of our rooms at no charge to ocean front rooms (there is a lot of construction going on in another wing of this hotel but it did not interfere with out stay). Only our room was ready and they said my sister's room would be ready about an hour later. An hour later, my sister's room was ready, but she was give an ocean view room. With a quick call they honored what they said as we arrived and came through with the free upgrade to ocean front for my sister.

The rooms were clean, the price was reasonable, and it was very relaxing sitting near the pools. If you don't want to eat at the on site restaurants, the town is only about a 10 minute ride away by car. An alternative would be to use the free hotel shuttle. Nearby if you drive south there are a few coffee plantations where you can take a tour (and you'll realize why coffee prices are so high) and a few other attractions.

All in all, this was a good place to spend 2 relaxing days with minimal touring before we went on to Maui.

Room Tip: The upgrade to the ocean front room made our stay most enjoyable - very quiet, except for the rhythm...

“Not bad at all but didn't hit my spot”

For the price we paid this was a great hotel. But too big for my taste and a little worn. I'll give it 3,5 stars. Room was fine enough but felt a little dated. The garden is very nice and well kept but there is no beach here. Pool area is also nice. I liked that there was coin operated laundry facilities (very cheap) at the hotel since I'm too tight to pay per piece to have someone clean my clothes. Parking was often nearly full so it could be quite a walk to the room. If you like resort hotels and don't need to be close to other facilities than those offered by the hotel you'll like it here. Cleaning is fine and beds are great.

“Just Perfect!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

We stayed at this motel January 31-February 6, 2012. We were looking for nice but not fancy/stuffy and this was the perfect choice. It was immaculately clean and everything looked new...no spots or wear on the carpet or furniture. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The concierge we saw shared personal experiences not associated with the motel to help us make choices best for us. The rooms are setup so that it was quiet for us at all times. We never heard people in other rooms. Our deck was large and private. They gave us enough towels without asking! And the view from this motel was just awesome!!! It sits right on the ocean and we walked along the property to see sunsets, many flowering plants, crashing surf, and manatees (they visit the bay there nightly!). The motel offers many activities including historical tours of the area, hula and lei lessons, happy hour specials...etc. Although we didn't have children with us, I noticed there were many activities for kids including a room with video games, ping pong, etc. The location is great as it is just outside all the activity of the town but a quick 5 minutes away. I would recommend this motel to everyone!

Room Tip: We had a king bed and the room seemed very large compared to many we've stayed in. PLENTY of roo...

“Nice place for the price...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Reasonable prices comparable to other area hotels. My wife and I stayed here for our Honeymoon and found the scenery to be spectacular, the pool very nice, the restaurant ok. Room was a little worn, but not too bad. How much time are you going to spend in the room, anyway?
