We stayed on night here while waiting to check into our condo. The resort is very well maintained and clean. The grounds are on one the most popular beaches in Kona. Free breakfast buffet in the morning was also a nice touch. Lots to do in the area, snorkelling and a good surf spot right out front.

Stayed 6 nights in January 2012. Very clean. Freshly painted rooms and hallways meant no lingering tropical humidity smells. Great staff. Onsite laundry.Only complaint is that we could hear the folks in the adjoining room.

We are a family with two collage age kids and stayed in two adjoining rooms. The rooms were comfortable and we had a nice view of the ocean and pool. The TV was a tube relic from another age, and they wanted $16.99 for a movie. For that price you expect a widescreen HD TV! They did have an internet connection.

The location is amazing, with tidal pools right outside the hotel. We discovered sea turtles in some of them. You can snorkel on the adjacent reefs and see fish. If one wants, you can walk or take a trolly to the Keahou Shopping Center.

The tour desk was very helpful and gave us great advice and service. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast.

I stayed at the Outrigger from 26-30th Dec and i found it a solid base for being outside of the holiday time madness of Kona. It was a 10 min drive away from Kona and has the best snorkling in the area. Location wise, it is quite central and just down from the highway. The self parking was pretty easy for the hotel being full. The Breakfast was pretty good, though get there early to avoid the crowds and also get a terrace seat to eat with the turtles. Great, knowledgable staff and the Expedia staff on site just a godsend.
The only thing that stops it being 5 stars is the lack of food options on site past breakfast but Kona more than makes up for it.
