“GREAT MANAGER-GREAT PLACE”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

The location is perfect about a block to many shops, restaurants and bars. Our room was well stocked with everything we needed, newly remodeled and beautifully appointed. The staff was very friendly as were all the people we meant at the bbq areas, sharing their ALOHA and food. We were their for a family reunion and wedding, the manager was great and helped us with many of the details for family members "Big Day". Even gave us flowers for our family get together at bbq area the night before the wedding. Cozy great place, I would like to own there.

Room Tip: We had nice room on quiet south side with a nice ocean view and a beautiful tree outside our door. O...

“lazy and rude manager!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2011

We love the unit we rent on the top floor, but the units on the 1st abd 2nd floor are awful! There is no insulation between the floors and it sounds like a herd of elephants are walking on your heads. The biggest complaint is the rude manager. She doesn't check behind the maids to make sure they are doing their jobs of restocking the rooms with toilet paper or paper towels. I've had to go to the office numerous times to get towels and toilet paper that weren't returned in the inventory. I ran out of paper towels on Christmas. I waited until Tuesday to get some. The office was closed. I had to use the rest room and noticed there was a new roll setting on the floor. I took it and was walking back my room when the manager confronted me and told me how rude I was for taking it. I was shocked! I explained to her why I had taken it and told her if she was doing her job of checking up behind the maids this wouldn't happen! They are on a budget which is understandable, but this is bordering on chinsey and not doing your job. When I came into this unit there was no spare roll of tp and no spare roll of paper towels. On the plus side the location is great1

Room Tip: Get a top floor!

“In the heart of Kailua”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2011

We stayed at this time share at an excellent price because my boss owns 3 months at this time share. it's not fancy, but it has everything you need (fully stocked kitchen), large bedroom, decent sized bathroom, and living area which is separated from the living area with a screen. It's right in the heart of the action on Kailua. There are several restaurants on Alii Drive, and there is a snorkel rental place across the street.

You HAVE to drive to the Hilton at night to see the large manta rays feeding on plancton at night. There's a nice bar close to the deck overlooking the water. There's good lights overlooking the water to see the manta rays really well.

You also have to make it to Black Sand Beach and stop at Punaluu Bakery for a Passion Fruit masala. You won't regret it! Beware they charge extra for air conditioning. I believe it's under $10 per day.

Plan a lot of time for driving as there are no major highways, and the road are windy. We went to Hilo at an awesome time since they had not had rain for several days, so it was absolutely breath taking and beautiful. We recommend the Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden over the World Botanical Garden. The only thing the World Botanical Garden had going for it was Uma Uma Falls. However, Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden is like walking around paradise. You will hike a lot, but it is stunning.

We loved Orchid Thai Restaurant and Kona Brewing Company for eating. As a matter of fact, we went to both twice because we liked it so much. Captain Cook's pizza is to die for and the Thom Kha soup was the best I've ever had.

“Our Piece of Paradise!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2011

We have loved and enjoyed our place at the Billfisher, every year since 1999. It is the perfect location to enjoy everything downtown Kona has to offer. The units have been totally reburbished this year...very clean and perfectly furnished to fit all of your needs. The pool is wonderful, with bbqs, gazebo, ping pong and luscious tropical landscaping. Across the street from The Royal Kona Resort, Huggo's and within a 5 min walk to ABC stores, Kona Market Place and the Farmer's Market. WE love our little Piece of Paradise, and will continue our annual visits forever! Our kids and grandkids have all enjoyed staying at the Billfisher and always look forward to going back again! We have 5 months a year and love that our friends and family can enjoy time there~

Room Tip: Several units have ocean views or landscape views of Mango trees, Hibiscus flowers, tropical foliage...

“GREAT AND COZY PLACE”

We really enjoyed our stay here, 1/2 block to all the bars and restaurants. Beatiful newly refurbished units great furniture, artwork, comfortable beds and a very helpful and friendly staff. The owners in house were very old group, snoopy and snotty, but they pooped out by dusk. All the other visitors were full of aloha at the barbeque areas, we had a few nice meals with people we meant there. Great place
