I did a lot of research for this first visit to the big island. Our criteria—ocean view and kitchen. KMS #201--Wow.
There are too many wonderful things to name here, but I will try. Email me if you want more:
Location – On Ali’i Drive, nice walk or short drive to the farmer’s market (nine luscious papayas for $2 USD). KMS is right next to Magic Sands beach so you can go for a morning swim, have breakfast; snorkel 30 feet from your lanai, have lunch; read and watch beach goers, then enjoy a homemade supper on the lanai while watching the sun set.
(Note about the beach: If you like wake boarding you will love Magic Sands. The condo property also has a dedicated outdoor shower to wash off any sand. Very handy and recommended.)
Kitchen – Granite counter tops, undermount sink, recessed lighting, new fridge and dishwasher, great stove. Highlights: a Keurig single-cup coffee maker, 10 litres of sealed bottles of water for condo users, finding rosemary/lavender BBQ rub in the cupboard.
Bathroom – Granite and tile. Glassed-in shower with a spa-pebbled floor. Lots of towels, laundry detergent, shampoo, etc.
Lanai/patio – Large enough for four yogi’s to stretch out. It currently holds two comfy chaise lounges, a patio set for four, and hidden around the corner, beach umbrellas, chairs, wake boards, coolers, etc. We enjoyed the unimpeded ocean view so much that going out to a restaurant with an ocean view was anti-climactic.
Needless to say, it was clean, comfortable and met our criteria. An understatement.
Note about the owners: They were very responsive throughout our correspondence. e.g. texting a quick reply from a dinner party.
What else can I say? All the work and effort put into this condo shows a sense of pride and good spirit.
