“5 stars for the location 1 star for the condo”

My ocean front condo had a fantastic view, but the condo itself was awful. The refrigerator and the washer/dryer worked about as well as the ceiling fans. All of them were not effective for their purpose. Since the ocean front condos do not have air conditioning, the temperature was fine early in the morning, but otherwise, the condo was like a sauna bath. Housekeeping was awful. The furniture was sticky, and so much of the condo was filthy. The sheets on the bed and the towels in the bathrooms were clean, however, so at least this essential detail wasn't overlooked. I interacted with two of the office staff, one of them was friendly, but the other one was very rude. I checked out early, and paid a bit more for much better lodging at another location, which was well worth the extra cost.

“We love all the Islands”

My Husband and I together with our Daughter went to Hawaii for the first time back in 1986 and fell in love with the Islands. We have been many times back and by now the Big Island, Kona and Kauaii are our most favorite Islands. The Kona BaliKai is the only place we have been staying, it is clean, by the Ocean and most important of all the Staff is very very friendly and goes out of they way to acommodate us. We will return to this place as many times as we can, the Ocean view is fantastic. We enjoyed watching the Turtles every morning that came in to have breakfast in the Lagoon the same time we had ours. The sunset is wonderful and sitting on the Lanai at night, the Stars are so close, something we are not able to see much here in Orlando. Mahalo for having such a wonderful place and sharing it with us.

Room Tip: Always ask for a Ocean view room with the bed rooms located by the Ocean site. Street site to noicy

“Would return in a heartbeat”

Very much enjoyed our 3 night ocean front condo stay. The kitchen was well equipped, bathroom clean, bed comfy (no bites to report), living area roomy and a nice tv. Ocean front unit was a stone throw from the water and I adored sitting on the larger than usual lanai taking in the fantastic view. Ocean front was well worth every penny. Went to Costco for salad fixings, local grocers for fruits and Walmart for pretty much everything else. Any problems were remedied by the staff and they were very helpful in all aspects. I used the in condo laundry unit with enough detergent for one load before checking out and heading to Hali'i Kai at the Waikoloa Beach Resort. A very satisfying stay made memorable thanks to Bali Kai room 212 and staff. Mahalo!

Room Tip: Oceanfront unit had a drop dead ocean front location.

“RELAXING KONA BALI KAI”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2011

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bali Kai recently. We were not quite happy with the first condo we were given but were obligingly moved from one unit to another by the very friendly reception staff. The second unit on the second floor was spotlessly clean, the decor and kitchen were modern, the laundry was very useful and the bedroom faced the sea so it was great to wake up each morning watching the waves breaking on the sand and listening to the surf. No AC but the breeze and working fans made it comfortable. Would highly recommend the Kona Bali Kai, especially if you have a car for easy access to shopping centre, Kona Centre, etc.

Room Tip: Condo 412 was a bit daggy and needed updating, fans working and a bit of fresh paint, especially in...

“HOME AWAY FROM HOME”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

This was our 5th stay at Kona Bali Kai. Wonderful condo. All of the condo's we have stayed in have been exceptional. Both ocean view and ocean front. We have not stayed mountain side. We book directly through Castle Resorts. All well equippted and clean and comfortable and all have had laundry in the condo. Da Pokie Shack is next door to the complex and has outstanding pokie! The walk to town is 3 miles. We walked this daily at 6 am for our exercise and to check out the fish caught in the am. at the pier. Please folks keep in mind this is not a 4 or 5 * hotel! This is a great affordable condo. Ask for an ocean front and you won't be disapointed. Turtles, surfers and the sound of the surf to put you to sleep. IF you do not like your assigned condo, ask if you could change to another. The staff is truely outstanding and want you to enjoy your stay. We will be back in March for our 6th stay. We also scuba dive with Jack's Dive Locker and sea fishing with The Fish Wife that we highly reccomend. Hats off to the GM Craig Leeper and the wonderful and friendly staff!!
Mahalo

Room Tip: Ocean front is worth the extra money. After all this is a vacation, don't you deserve it?!
