We've stayed here 8 times since 2004, twice with dive buddies, and this time with a daughter's family in another unit. Wouldn't stay anywhere else on the Big Island. Bob Johnson, the owner, takes great pride in maintaining the place including the grounds with many lovely plants. He has remodeled over the years, continuing to making it even nicer. Some of the earlier commenters reflect some unhappiness during some of these events; but the results are great! Come back and see! Bob lives there too, and always has helpful suggestions on things to do, or take care of amenities, like the pool and barbecue area. He's like family, and this time welcomed us "home." Once when a large group of divers were using several units, he moved us at the start to the third floor so none of the partying would be above us! The condos face the ocean, better views higher up. The land behind the condo is a jungle making for relative isolation, and great birds and an occasional wild pig to observe. We love to snorkel and Kahaluu Beach Park is a short walk across the street with great variety of fish equal to or better than anywhere on the Island, and it's shallow, but don't tread on the coral. This trip I identified 46 different fish on my first swim, 110-15 for the trip all over the Island, and another 30 diving. This trip we stayed in Unit #4 above the owner, corner overlooking both pool and ocean, unobstructed view across open heiau property. As part of a family reunion, we hosted lunch one day and everyone was comfortably accommodated. Also, saw the green flash twice from the heiau. This is a great place to stay and explore the island, and there are a variety of nice places to eat in the Kailua-Kona area. Obviously, we'll be back. Mahalo for all the fun times!!
