First thought that came to mind when I saw the Poly Apartments layout was old military barracks. The buildings are old and the color is depressing. The trees, grass and shrubs surrounding the apartments look burnt out and thirsty for water. Inside the apartment was clean and had basic essentials like utensils, few pots/pan, small frig, stove top, sink and cabinet space. King size bed was not very comfortable..the bed slats underneath the mattress popped out from tossing and turning when sleeping. Small box TV. Table w/couple of chairs..and a futon couch. Bathroom was very small but clean...bathtub/shower combo..big people might have difficulties. Towels were provided. No screen on windows and doors to keep flying bugs out...only shaky wooden shutters that restricted air circulation. No A/C in the apartment..temp was high 90's/100 during our stay..had to open all the windows and of course bugs flew in. Location is so so compared to other locations..cycling is good..several bike trails...good spot for children. The water along the coastline was clean and blue..stopped thru Porec for lunch it seemed like and nice spot.. Overall I had a nice time..the area is enjoyable, however the apartment was adequate but below my comfort level.. if you decide to stay at the poly apartments..keep your expectations low.

Apartments are in a lovely area, but the inside of them is very old. The furniture is in poor condition and many useful things are missed. The beach is beautiful and orderly.

We stayed in one of the self catering 1 bedroom apartments for a week. None of the houses are directly on the sea-side, but only a few minutes walk away. There are plenty of spaces for sunbathing or swimming all along the coast that belongs to them, although some sort of water shoe is recommended as it is very uncomfortable walking on the rocks by the beach. We had a great time. There is a swimming pool too, entertainment for children and adults daytime and night time. The resort is really huge, luckily there is a small train connecting it to the centre of Umag, in about 20-30 minutes (depending on time of day or driver) for 15 Kuna for adults, 10 Kuna for children. We cooked for ourselves every day, but there is no oven or microwave only a two rose hob and a coffee maker. We also had a grill on the terrace, which we used a couple of times. The stuff understands German much better than English, but we managed somehow. All in all we enjoyed our holiday but the rocky beach was a bit too much for me.

If you travel with kids and want to spend a few days on the beach or at the pool that is the place. Rather good access to the sea, water chutes, playground, etc. The price seems ok for the services provided. However remember, if you are looking for a top standard choose other destination. You must bear with "tired - looking" sunshades, furniture, appliances. Everything is clean and working.
