This is a great hotel in a beautiful location. The hotel is spotless the room was nice, a bit small and old fashioned but had everything that we needed. Cleaned every day with fresh bedlinen and towels. Staff couldn't do enough for you, very pleasant and helpful, particularly the restaurant staff. Food was good, a bit more variety would have been welcomed. Wine and beer included was rather nice! We were there at the same time as Susan O and I agree that this is the latest that we would want to go as local bars and shops were closing down. I also agree that the trips were expensive. We went to Venice which was a lovely trip but we were given no instructions on where to get the bus back. We assumed, wrongly that we would be picked up at the same place as we were dropped off. In fact we were to make our way to the bus station, we found this out just in time to do a half mile sprint and get the bus just as it was about to leave for the 45 minute trip back to Medulin. Top tip, if you go to Venice you get the bus back from the bus station, you may not be told this and the bus won't wait. We also went to Lake Bled, again a lovely trip, expensive mind, not really worth the money. We dressed for a nice sunny day, with a cardi packed in anticipation of a drop in temperature. Every other traveller got on the bus dressed in woollies, boots, coats. They had all been contacted by their rep because the weather forecast was exceptionally bad. We were freezing, absolutely soaked and cold, spoilt the day, especially when the man who rows you to the island turned up in a black all in one weatherproof outfit. he looked like the grim reaper and we were so cold that we wouldn't have been surprised to meet him. Top Tip, wear something warm to go to Lake Bled. We went on a " Melissa" boat trip from Pula, booked at the local tourist info, Globus. It was brilliant, the best trip. I recommend that. Also the trips from the harbour to the nearby islands are great. Hire a bike! It's flat and you can go to places inaccessible by car.
The beach is lovely, did some nice snorkelling, you need shoes though as the beach is quite stony. They sell suitable shoes for a few pounds so don't worry if you haven't got any. We met lovely people and had a wonderful holiday, I don't usually return to the same destination but I would certainly go back to Hotel Medulin.
