Large and convenient to local amenities. Very empty during stay in mid-May. The hotel and resort is very much keyed up for German tourists and the locals have a better handle on that language than english. German tour buses were main customers. Rooms were somewhat cramped, thought the extra cost of a sea view is worth it. There is an odd categorisation of what is a double vs single room. We booked a double, which consisted of twin beds. We viewed a double bed in a smaller room and we were told that they labelled this a single room! How and ever, the sea view upgrade sorted it!
Food: for the buffet meals, be early as they leave the food out until its gone, before putting fresher food out, if at all! This can be a problem if there are few guests. Juices were a very diluted concentrate, and coffee could fill potholes. Breakfast was ok, tho' possibly monotonous (same cereal, cold meats, scrambled and boiled egg, german style smoked sausies, etc.) . Dinner was not always the best, particularly when its the buffet and has been left out for ages. Its a bit hit and miss, depending on the current tour group!.
The staff were helpful and generally friendly.
The resort of Medulin itself is quiet (probably as it was early in the season). Restaurants are mostly pizzerias (pizzas are generally very good as are sardines and mixed grills).
BIG recommendation to Globus Agency down beside the "fountain". Marina, the owner, is very friendly, helpful and informative. I heartily recommend a visit re local info and rentals (boat and car).
Would visit again, but perhaps when the season is more established.
