As Marine families know, when your loved one returns from deployment, you are not given an exact date--just a "window." When you do get a date, it usually changes several times. When we tried to get some flexibility with the cancellation policy, since our son's arrival was abruptly changed twice, we were told there was nothing they could do, so we were charged twice without every staying there. When we finally headed to this Twentynine Palms for a joyous reunion, we were told our free-night voucher (the only reason we were going to stay at this Best Western) was not valid, since they did not have any more "voucher" rooms. What a nightmare! So we finally went down the road to a brand new Holiday Inn Express and got a much better room for less than the old Best Western was going to charge us (for a third time). To top it off, when we responded with dissatisfaction to the Best Western survey this week, Casey (the manager?) personally called my wife and chewed her out! We do a fair amount of traveling and have never been treated so unprofessionally. Marine families beware!

We value our guests’ opinions and feedback regarding their stay at our property and regret any miscommunications that have occurred with your reservations. Since many of our employees and their families have served our country in the Marines with multiple deployments, we appreciate and understand the necessary sacrifices made by military members and their families. Our staff is always honored to host military guests at our hotel.
We believed that our 24-hour cancellation policy would be appropriate for all guests, and are very sorry that this incident caused stress to the family of the returning Marine. We will review our cancellation and no show policies to ensure that they are as fair as possible.
My staff and I continually strive to provide top-notch customer service, especially to those who serve our country, and hope to create a comfortable, friendly and relaxing atmosphere for all guests who choose to visit our property.
