Myself and my girlfriend booked a one night stay at the Roughley Manor and opted to stay in the Museum room - which is one of many rooms and out-buildings available at the B&B. We were over the moon to say the least. The Museum room is a 1 bedroom apartment, which is decked out in classic interiors and has a very homely feel to it. The layout is very open planned and this makes the whole apartment feel incredibly spacious. The Museum room has an open living room (complete with two double sofas) and a very cosy bed which easily accomodates two persons. The bathroom is also well decorated and has a great shower / bath depending on your preference.
For me, the biggest wow factor of this particular apartment is the outside. If you have the pleasure of staying in the Museum room, you will be presented with an outside area which comes with a decent sized table and chairs and a view of the entire desert. Actually, not only a view of the desert, let's just say the desert is your back garden!
We were also very pleased to see how good the owners were to have kitted the place out with everything you need for a relaxing stay: cosy towels, complimentary shower gels, chilled bottles of water and all the kitchen accessories you could possibly need.
Another talking point of our stay at the Roughley Manor was the breakfast in the morning. Served between 8am - 9am, we had the pleasure of tasting Jan's home-cooked peach and pecan French toast with crispy maple bacon which was quite simply one of the yummiest things we have ever had. Complete with a copy of the LA Times, fresh orange juice and either tea / coffee, the breakfast is well worth getting up for!
The owners Gary and Jan are very lovely people and were incredibly helpful and accommodating at all times.
You will also be pleased to hear the Roughley Manor has a wonderful swimming pool and hot tub available within the grounds, so you can cool off in the midday sun.
I can happily say this is one of the best and idyllic places I have ever stayed in and can only describe it as 'Paradise in the Desert.'
The only downside to our stay was the fact we had only booked one night...our bad!
