We stayed at the Villa Regina Hotel for 6 nights with 36 pilgrims, and we had a wonderful experience, from the hotel staff who were kind and helpful to our endless questions and requests to the dining room where we were served good breakfasts with a variey of foods to the dinner, which were hearty and delicious. The rooms were spacious, clean and had wonderful views, and the location was wonderfully close to St. James Parish. For those pilgrims who had difficulty walking, the location made it so much easier for them. We appreciated having the elevator and the comfy beds. For those of us who needed contact via email, they offered internet service. Our tour agent provided us with an excellent tour escort as well as wheelchairs needed. Again, grateful for the excellent care all around.

We arrived about 2:30 pm after a 4 hour drive and brought our luggage up to our triple room. The air con didn't work. We called the front desk, and she came up and couldn't get it to work. She got the key to show us another room. Instead of a regular shower, it had a handicapped-accessible one (which I wasn't wild about), and fortunately someone had ripped the shower curtain off and they didn't have a replacement. She showed us to another room, which was lovely with a jacuzzi-style tub. The furnishings were lovely and the beds very comfortable. We thought the room was great--until the airconditioning never quite cooled the place down (until 4 am) and the controls on the tub didn't work. We asked how to use it at the desk and were informed that it didn't work because of a problem with the electricity. There were two computers in the lobby for those staying at the hotel to use. Unfortunately, they also were not working. This hotel did not live up to its advertising. Also, the room is keyed by real keys, not the electronic cards, so security could be an issue. The breakfast included in our package was barely adequate. Dry pieces of bread, corn flakes, liquid yogurt and if you wanted, they would cook a cheese omelet. Disappointing.
