What a charming place! The exterior is great, if you dine there I recommend eating outside, the little pond is delightful. There is however something very odd about this place - there seems to be an unhealthy obsession with Lara Croft. Full size statues adorn the lobby and other areas. Out back there is a glass-walled garage with a vintage car and DreamCast posters and other items - an odd collection to be sure. The hotel itself is very yellow. The Jacuzees are nice. Their internet access is precarious at best, the computer they use is antiquated by almost anyone's standards and can't access Hotmail for some reason. Overall this was a great and very charming place, a wonderful quiet spot away from the city to recharge your batteries on a long european journey and one of the highlights of the trip.

what a lovely family the alts are! rooms immaculate food very good although limited menu. Was a bit disappointed not to get a room with a bath as full relaxation requires a bath. didn't have a car so getting about was a bit of a problem because we felt that we had to rely on a lift from the alts to get to the bus station everyday although they were always pleased to help. Public transport in vienna is on the dot! cannot be faulted! If you are used to the hustle and bustle of an area like london, we would suggest a long weekend at the most as vienna's relaxed atmosphere loses its appeal after the 3rd day and we were there for a week. Was glad when we were on the way home but will miss the alts and their fantastic hospitality! Will return one day but with a hire car!

We had the pleasure to stay at the Hotel Flic Flac in Mauerbach, just outside of Vienna in September, 2003. The Hotel accommodations were wonderful and the food was excellent. The Alt's were a very warm and hospitable couple and made our stay special and one of the most memorable on our vacation. We look forward to returning someday.
