This was our 3rd visit to the Hotel Gansleit in 5 years and it is still an excellent place to stop in spring-summer, whether you are walking-climbing or just sight seeing Austria. Steve, Rosi, Hans and Anni always go out of their way to help, and although we hadn't been since 2008, we were still remembered. The rooms are clean with the rooms at the rear of the hotel having a view of the Hohe Salve (where Steve gives a guided walk on Mondays). The food is always excellent and very filling with Rosi doing the cooking and coming up with some curious dishes (deep fried elderflower in berry sauce or crepe soup to give you an example) and there is always some funny banter between the family members and customers at meal times or when relaxing in the bar on an evening. Rosi also does a guided Nordic walking session on a Friday morning - haven't got round to trying that yet and Steve also organizes a cycle ride on Wednesdays - yet to try that as well.
The hotel also has a well equipped gym with treadmill, cross-trainer, cycle, free weights punchbag etc. and the wellness room (sauna, steam-room, whirlpool bath, solarium, showers and a row of sun-recliners) is a great way to end your day.
The village itself is currently having some roadworks done, but this did not create any noise whilst we where there and although the small underpass that links Gansleit to the village has gone, there is a temporary crossing point behind Hans and Anni's house and the main underpass between the village and ski-lifts is still usable.
Will be returning.
