Just returned from Hotel Austria after a half term skiing break with friends and family. The hotel is in a great location handy for ski bus/slopes/apres ski bars and the food for the whole week was excellent for breakfast and dinner, this could not be faulted. However if you get a room on the church side of the hotel, like we had, then you will be woken up at 6.45am with the extremly loud church bells - 78 - of them this occurs 365 days a year! The other warning is that I had my mobile phone stolen whilst in the bar and they show very little concern almost as though it happens all the time. At the end of my stay a man came into reception asking if a wallet had been handed in as he had lost it in the bar but I also think this was stolen, as too much of a coincidence, so great hotel but keep an eye on your stuff it has a habit of going missing in the bar!!

I stayed here for a weeks skiing with my sister. The rooms are large, comfy beds and a great shower. Our room was quiet and cleaned daily. The hotel is really clean and well looked after, and contrary to what has been written here previously, we found all the staff to be accommodating, friendly and helpful.
Breakfast is buffet style with rolls, ham, cheese, eggs, cereals,
yoghurts toast etc, and proper tea which was great! You are given a choice of 2 options in the morning for main course at dinner, which is served alongside soup, a salad bar selection and dessert. We found the food to be tasty and plentiful.

There is a boot room in the hotel bit we didn't use it as it is about a 15 min walk to the gondola, not great in ski boots! We left our stuff in the ski garage at the Stoll hire shop which was well worth 7 euros for the week.

Overall, we had a brilliant holiday, snow and weather were great, lively bars, nice people and excellent skiing. Soll is a really reasonably priced resort and we would definitely go back.

Just had a 4 night stay in the Austria.Location was superb 5 mins from lift and bars,Food fantastic,staff very friendly,total value for money would stay there again.

in a nutshell, the hotel austria is perfect for a no frills short stay ski break in soll. we stayed for a week half board & if you want nothing more than a comfy warm bed & hot shower you can't go wrong. the general decor around the hotel is a bit dated but the rooms appear to have gone under a recent refurb with electronic doors,power showers,& new carpets. brekkie is from 730am till 10 with the usual mix of yoghurts,cereal,bread,cheese *& meats.for dinner you must be seated between 630 & 7pm & consists of a buffet salad bar,soup, main course & desert. the food is perfectly adequate & enough to fill the gap after a long day on the slopes, about an easy 10 min walk away.there's a shop about a one min walk from the front door & you won't have to stumble too far back after some much deserved apres ski.you must pay for your drinks after dinner & you won't be let away with it either! we had no complaints with the hotel & wouldn't have any hesitation recommending it for its location & basic comforts
