“Perfect as always”

We stayed for the Christmas period during which the Central Spa laid on a special program of events and culinary evenings. It was strange arriving at the hotel without my road bike. The hotel has a lovely family atmosphere where you feel very much at home, The cooking was some of the best I have ever eaten, absolutely spectacular. All the staff made you feel very welcome and it was a lovely way to spend Christmas. Rooms were immaculate. You have a very special holiday when you visit the Central Spa.

Room Tip: View facing South is best

“This hotel feels like home with the best hotel facilities”

The exterior as well as the interior of the hotel looks beautiful. The staff of the reception, restaurant as well as the room maids are very friendly and helpful. The chef cook is really a magician and could work immediately in a two star Michelin restaurant. Breakfast and dinner were every day a surprise to us and every day we looked forward to it. The wines are superb.
It is a really nice surprise when the owner of the hotel takes the time to talk to every guest during dinner.
In other words, this is the best hotel in my experience of visiting several hundreds of 5 star hotels.
Negative point : the road is next to the hotel and although it is a very quite road you hear every car. The Spa needs an upgrade.

“Christmas at Central Spa”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

We normally stay at the Central Spa during the Summer months, which is fantastic in itself, however, the Christmas spirit totally surpassed that. We were a mixed family group, all arriving separately and with varying levels of stress but left again, after three days, feeling completely relaxed and recovered having been cared for to the highest level. All the staff are friendly, efficient and competent. The Christmas menu's were absolutely delicious, using an astounding quality of ingredients. My sister and I skied from our party and no sooner were my ski's out of their secure locker when a driver was to hand to pick them up and place them in a vehicle ready to deliver us to our choice of lift. We all enjoyed at least one of the treatments at the Wellness Centre, which were very relaxing and worthwhile.

There was regular entertainment organised, some of which we partook and always found everything to be well organised. Our stay was so successful that we plan to return next year and we will of course, have our regular August trip there as well.

I have stayed extensively in many hotels in several countries over the years but the Central Spa is undoubtedly the best hotel in which I have stayed.

Room Tip: South facing rooms have lovely views over the Gaislachkogl ski area

“Beautiful friendly hotel with excellent service”

It is the second time we have stayed in the hotel. It has a lovely quiet location with beautiful views in all directions. The hotel itself is designed to be quiet and offers an incredibly relaxing stay, between the professionalism of the staff, the Wellness Area and the surroundings.

The kitchen is excellent. We enjoyed the quality of the cuisine throughout the day. Nothing was too much trouble for the Central Spa Team in helping me prepare for the cycle race I did on the Sunday.
A lovely weekend

“Rarely does one experience such excellence .....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2011

A very, very impressive place, the hotel is in the heart of the village looking up the valley and is maintained beautifully. Flowers were everywhere, lovely gardens and a terrace to sit on outside the dining room. The hotel was absolutely spotless, the decor quite stunning. In August it was very quiet as it seems to be busiest in winter as a skier’s hotel. Reception was very warm and welcoming, staff introduced themselves, there was someone to take in your luggage and park your car for you in a private underground car park nearby.
Our room, on the third floor had a balcony and overlooked the village looking up the valley with stupendous views. A lovely big, clean, well furnished room with a large seating area, it had a luxurious bathroom with a big bath and separate walk-in shower and WC. Masses of storage space was a benefit too and the bed comfortable, being two singles tied together. The separate duvets might be seen as a disadvantage by some as they fall off the bed rather easily if you are a restless sleeper. A turn down service is provided and you want for nothing in well-priced luxury.
The dining experience promises to be good and the gourmet experience was interesting and very attractive. The menu was even rated in terms of the dishes that were healthiest. The wine list was very extensive, with lots of very good Austrian wines, the menu has recommended wines too which is useful if you are not familiar with local wines. Breakfast was quite superb and there are delicious snacks available free of charge at certain tim,es of the day for hotel guests. Service was friendly and very attentive. Pre-dinner drinks were served in the large bar area which was very attractively and imaginatively furnished and decorated.
The hotel literature and web site gives the impression of refined luxury, with dining in quite a formal setting with suits and neckties, however there is actually no dress code for the restaurant. Also at dinner if you want a quiet dining area with no children, you may need to ask for it. We had a disappointing first evening at dinner because of this, as we were two adults surrounded by three families with very young children one of whom behaved very badly. After that we were moved to a delightful private little restaurant area and everything was excellent. Nadine looked after us and nothing was too much trouble.
My partner made use of the wellness facilities which she found simply the best she has ever experienced. We did not use the pool, but had a look at it and it seemed very impressive too. Our departure was marked with a small gift of appreciation.
This hotel is as close to perfection as you can get, it is very highly recommended with impeccable but friendly service. Staff and management are to be congratulated on such excellence.

Room Tip: Ask for one overlooking the village
