We had a great time in St.Johann, there was loads of snow and plenty of slopes to choose from. St.Johann is lovely quiet town in great surroundings.
Hotel itself is kind of 1980s retro with some nice old furniture. Breakfast choice was ok, but no eggs on offer, friendly staff serving coffee. Dinner menu was soup of the day, choice of two mains and desert. Food wasn't bad but cheep ingredients. One night there was a tomato soup and the second main was pasta with tomato sauce. Guess what, it was just plain pasta with some soup poured over it, it made me laugh. Last night there was the same main meal as what we had three days ago. Considering the budget cook gets to spend on his meals, he's made the best of it.
If you are as unlucky as we were, you get your room facing the main street, which is mega noisy. I can sleep through almost any noise, but this was the first time I had to wear an ear plugs to get some sleep. Snow plough works the night shifts so he will drive around for a whole night with his chains on the wheels no matter what. Our room and the main hallway floor is wooden so you can hear pretty much every step around you. This hotel needs some serious soundproofing!!!
All staff was very friendly and made that extra effort to make our stay pleasant. The main manager and the owner of the place was wierd person thou.
I would love to come to St.Johann again but will choose a different place to stay in.
