Had a great week long holiday in August at Sporthotel Austria. Travelling with my husband and 17 year old son we booked a superior double (with lounge area and large balcony) plus a single room. The extra space was well worth it especially as we had few days of torrential rain. Food was excellent although WAY too salty. only gripe was the lack of tea/coffee facilities in room or even nearby. Could get one from the hotel if you could find anyone to ask! and it was very expensive.

Not much going on in St Johann so not the place to go if you're looking for a lively holiday but it suited us fine. Enough shops for a wander round and a good location for walks or trips by train.

My husband and I have just returned from the Sporthotel Austria in St. Johann. This is the 2nd time we have stayed at this hotel and will certainly return. This is a lovely, spotless hotel and beautifully decorated. Gunther Gant and all the staff at the hotel are very pleasant and helpful. The food is amazing and we really looked forward to our dinner each evening. I am gluten intolerant and they catered for me with no problems.

Gunther also provided us with information on excellent walks within the area.
The cleanliness in the bedroom and all areas of the hotel was excellent.

We stayed in this hotel in August 2010 as part of an organised tour - as such my expectations were not that high!! However everything about this hotel was a delight. The staff were not only efficient they were extremely friendly and helpful.

Our meals were included in the package and every day we had something different and really tasty. Dinner was 3 courses everyday with a choice of main course, buffet starter and dessert. We were never disappointed with the food and portions were more than adequate.

Hotel location is perfect - a very short stroll from the cable car and into the village. Perfect for an after dinner stroll.

I will definately be considering this hotel as a an option for ski holidays in the future.

Just back from a most enjoyable skiing holiday in St Johann. We stayed in the Sporthotel as we always find it to be a top quality hotel with a warm welcome and excellent service. The owner Gunther Gatt ensures that the hotel is well run, he is extremely helpful and is always at hand to assist and provide information, nothing is too much trouble. The staff are professional, helpful and friendly. The hotel is located close to the ski slopes and provides an excellent ski storage room. The food is excellent and the staff and chef very kindly make sure that a gluten free menu is available, with deliciously daily baked gluten free bread , again nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The swimming pool, sauna and steam room are a god send after a day skiing.
