Fist impression of the hotel was good albeit the location was a bit messy. Hotel is circa 2km from centre. Skibus stops at 4:30 but the hotel offers a free shuttle outside those hours. However, unlike all of the other hotels we called the hotel only to be informed there was no driver! Waiting and barstaff were superb but the Fawltyesque proprietress regularly shouting at the guests was nothing short of amazing. Also £4 per carafe of tap water irritated as did the eye wateringly priced wine list.

We have just returned from an excellent week in Obergurgl staying at the Hotel Muhle. The facilities were second to none; a four star hotel with a five star feel without the need to dress up or feel put down. Yes we did have to pay for tap water but felt that this was acceptable. The wine was expensive and not to our taste so we chose not to have it and that seemed OK with the waiters. The pool and spa facilities were super with tea, water and snacks laid out in the rest room free of charge. We enjoyed afternoon tea every afternoon with attentive but not intrusive staff. The hotel bus took us to collect our skis and they were collected at the end of our stay free of charge. To older skiers this was definitely an advantage. The food was excellent; we loved the Farmer's Buffet and Gala evening. Also included was a kitchen party with finger food and drinks when we ate too much, leaving little room for dinner. Only one beef; the boiled eggs were hard boiled. Otherwise, excellent.

We stayed here for a few days while skiing in obergurgl and got a pretty good room rate as a last minute booking.

The room size was excellent, spacious and comfortable. It was clean and the amenities such at the sauna ackage a welcome extra. I don't usuaaly use the wellness area as it's normally cramped and not as clean as i'd like but not here! The area was spotless, there was plenty of juice and fruit provided, and most importantly enough room to feel comfortable. A clever detail was the room number printed on yourbathrobe, so no danger of losing it inbetween all the others.

As for the food, it was decent, to my opinion the chef was trying too hard. It all looked a little too pretentious when I would've appreciated a little more attention to the quality of the ingredients.

The staff however need training, during our stay more than once tables were forgotten, orders mixed up and a refusal to be flexibel. It was really too bad, because it put a negative spin on the visit that was otherwise wonderful.

The skiing in the area is excellent so we'll be back next year, but probably not at this hotel.

Beautiful little hotel with very high standards. Everywhere spotless and fantastic attentive staff. Food could have been better maybe, especially for children but cannot really fault it.
