“Great location, good service & value”

The hotel is located in the heart of the village, a block from the bus stop and 2 blocks from one of the ski lifts. It's great value for money if you're not expecting a 5 star hotel. The staff are helpful and friendly enough. We stayed in a 2 bedroom self service apartment which is equipped with everything you require (just not enough English TV channels). From other reviews we decided not to even try the hotel restaurant, but there are 4 restaurants just outside the hotel, all with great food! (and better priced than the hotel anyway) The Wifi is free, there's a spa with steam rooms, pool, jacuzzi and sauna - which are all free for hotel guests. They also have a room for keep your ski gear at no charge and a fitness centre. All the facilities are well kept & clean and nicely presented. The decor in reception is traditional and makes you feel 'Austrian', it's well presented overall. The beds are hard, so it depends on your preference, we found the pillows to be the problem.
In general, we had a good experience and I'd probably stay here again.

“Very enjoyable skiing holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 February 2011

I stayed in this hotel with my family for the mid term break. the group included four adults two teenagers and three younger children. The service in the hotel was excellent. The staff were very obliging. One of the teenagers arrived a day later than the rest of us on the train. A staff member collected her from the station at no charge. Another child in our group had a birthday during our stay, a beautiful birthday cake was provided after dinner as well as decorations and balloons at the table. The breakfast was very good however dinner could have been better. Soup salads and desserts were good but the main course was a hit and miss affair. Our accommodation was clean spacious and comfortable. The location was great , very close to the ski bus stop and main lift. We all enjoyed the pool and spa area. The bar area was pleasant and relaxing. All in all we had an enjoyable holiday.

“Clean and warm, great location, but not the best experience”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2011

My husband and I and our friends (another couple) stayed in the hotel for the week ending on 29th of January. While we were happy with the hotel's location, cleanliness of the room and the size of the bathroom, there were numerous things that will make us remember our staying there for wrong reasons.
The food for breakfast was OK, with a range of very nice breads and pastries, and a selection of hot and cold food. The dinner, however, was a different story. The starters, soups and salads were fine. Main course portions, however, were rather small. Vegetarian option was usually some pasta drenched in cheese sauce, or mixed vegetables in one or the other way - total lack of imagination. The fish was usually a cheap variety, accompanied with boiled rice, a bland combination of flavours... The waiters were over attending, which was sometimes very annoying. They never waited for all four of us to finish the course to come over and take away the plates. Instead, as soon as one of us finished they would come over and pick up the plate, as if they were in a bit of a hurry.
The room maintenance was poor, too. For the duration of our stay they never renewed toiletries in the bathroom. We had to ask for some shower gel when we run out of it. Our friends had to ask for toilet paper... A cleaning lady forgot the cloth she used to clean around on the kitchen worktop one day. The other day we were given only one bath towel instead of two. When I complained at the reception, the lady there didn't apologise, just made a note as if I simply requested an additional towel.
The swimming pool was cold while the room was overheated.
There was no room for non smokers in the bar. Some evenings we enjoyed quiet drinks there, but on couple of occasions there were too many smokers in the room that we decided we would rather skip the drink than sit in the room full of smoke.
All in all, our stay there was OK, but far from the one to be remembered. I'm not sure we would stay there again.

“Noisy, overheated 2 star hotel in 80s style”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2011

Our friends have a time share property in this hotel that is why we had not cared about the rating of this hotel and booked for 3 nights. The price ought to have raised my suspicion as it was EUR 420 for 3 nights, unusually low for a 4 star hotel in the Alps.

When we arrived we realized that the hotel has no parking lots or own garage. If you are lucky, the lot in front of the door is free and you can take your luggage from your car. If not, you have to take everything from the garage 200 m away. The garage is ca. EUR 10 per day. Location is good, 250 m from the ski bus.

The window of the first room we received looked onto a bar in the street. The bar was very noisy all day long, you could dance in the room. After half an hour argument we got a room on the other side. However, every Saturday there is a disco club somewhere down in the street. We woke up every half an hour until 4 a.m.

Rooms are large and have a small kitchen. Furniture, decoration and amenities were worn and cheap, at least 20 years old. Breakfast was simple, cheap that would be OK for a two.-star hotel. There is an outdoor pool covered in winter. You have to run through the garden in your bathing suit to realize that the water is 20 C cold and ice-cold water is dripping from the roof of the pool. The indoor part consist of saunas and a jacuzzi. We were there with small children but we did not want htem to sit with naked men in the jacuzzi.

Best momentum was the final night when we received a letter saying they charge us EUR 50 for tearing the curtain. It is true that as we could not draw the curtain to cover all the windows, a couple of hooks came from their place, but nothing was broken or torn. When I complained, one of the cleaning ladies brought a piece of curtain. It could have been torn anytime in the past 20 years.

Looks like they have not invested in this hotel in the past 20 years and they are desperately saving money now. The best way to go bankrupt.

“Clean but not 4 star hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 December 2010

As with a lot of the reviews the theme is the same. The hotel is warm, in fact very warm, the reception area is ok, very functional and the people helpful.
The lounge is fine and the bar areas comfortable but mpst of the hotel is very dated especially the rooms. Our childrens room had a plastic shower screen that had been there for a long time. The decor including the tiles are very dated mostly brown and green. The bedrooms and furntiure all ok but the beds were hard and generally look very tired and again dated.
The hotel swimming pool is a little on the COLD SIDE !! but still quite fun if basic.
The spa area is a little intimadating as we British are a little conservative and do not generally walk round naked, nothing wrong with that because that is the way they do things but I would not let the kids walk through ( which is the proper path to the pool ) for obvious reasons. The spa itself as two types of saunas and a steam room, jacuzzi and some showers that have a 'heated rainfall' I enjoyed using the spa and the relaxation rooms but my wife did not feel comfortable enough to use the spa.
There is also a Disco near the hotel that keeps you awake until 2am on Thursdays,Fridays and Saturdays
The food is really along woth the general out dated deor the biggest thing that lets the hotel down. The breakfast and dinner arte basic and you get the feeling a bit mass produced. The self service is a good idea but the area a little cramped and the food not really hot.
The choice is limited if this is supposed to be a 4 star hotel. In summary then I would say the best thing is the position to the ski lifts and the friendly and helpful staff ( although the lady on reception can be a bit scary !! ) and the worse thing the food and dated rooms. We would not stay here again until they refurbish and overall would say it is a 3 star hotel and only that based on the fact that it has a pool and spa
Hope this helps everyone, do not be put off just be prepared
