“Hotel Reisinger Experience”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

I booked this hotel for January 2012. The location is excellent, the rooms though looking dated and a bit tired were clean and warm. It has resturant where you can get a drink and a bar below which opens at 17:30. The ski/boot romm is hot! Excellent for drying boots etc. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The down side of this hotel is the food. I knew is was not 4* but i cant even say it was 1*. The food was bland and un exciting. As an example, a chicken leg and rice was one main meal. I reckon the tin opener was busy for desert as we had tin peaches, tin fruit cocktail etc. If only the food was average it would be a great hotel.

“The perfect place for a budget ski holiday”

We didn't pay very much for this hotel so we expected very little, but in fact it was more then I hoped for.
This hotel is the typical Austrian hotel, a sort of 70's style interior with a lot of dark wood.
There is no 24/7 reception, sauna, pool or any other fancy stuff that I do not use when I go for a skiing and drinking holiday.
But there is a nice bed, a (very) hot shower, a decent meal (don't expect foie gras) and clean rooms.
But the best part is that all of these are within crawling distance of the best apres-ski bars and just a 3 minute walk to the ski lift.
The hotel lady seemed a bit grumpy in the beginning but we were given a warm welcome when we came back from skiing later that day. She even washed my clothes when they got dirty and got it back the same evening. The hotel staff is friendly and always ready to help you.
So this is just an average hotel, but for a budget price on a luxury location so that makes it a bargain.
I can only recommend this hotel to people who don't really care about fancy stuff, and just want a nice place to sleep, eat and clean up for a decent price.

“Good location, doesn't break the bank”

The hotel is 2 minutes walk from the best ski lift in the resort. We had a room at the back of the hotel which had a lovely balcony. Dinner is basic (hope you like pork and chips!) - don't expect anything fancy, especially from desert! If you just want sustainance at a cheap price then this is ideal. No drinks are included so watch out that you don't get coerced into spending a fortune.

Plenty of hot water for baths and the other guests were friendly. It was a shame the hotel didn't have a swimming pool or sauna but there are public baths two minutes down the road which are very good (10 euros).

“Not a typical Austrian Hotel”

No-one to greet us on arrival. No lift. Bedding not clean and the food was awful. On the positive side the location good - very near the lift.

“Ideal location probably best thing about it”

stayed here for a week in january this year, hotel is clean but in major need of refurbishment stuck in a bit of a time warp! agree with previous comments about smoking, by the time we had climbed 3 flights of stairs in thick smoke we needed oxygen! We had a room on the back of hotel which unfortunately overlooked a very noisy bar, bit of a problem with noise in the early hours. Food was at best very plain , at worst small portions and bizarre combinations no veg and tinned sliced peaches or swiss roll for dessert is not my idea of fine dining! young waiter was very cheerful same could not be said of waitress(bit of an ogre) definitely lacking in charm and welcome. Location in village was excellent right opposite cable car but would we stay here again? probably not.
