We are spending our ski-holidays in Saalbach for the last 7 years every year and will continue coming back, as we like the resort very much. But concerning this hotel, we will not stay here again. We have just spent 4 days there and must admit that the price 112 EUR/person/night is absolutely too high for the room interior from 70’s, cold rooms (heating was off all days) and an average food. The only two positive facts for this hotel are location and cleanliness. Because in Saalbach everything was occupied for the period we wanted to stay there, we have stayed for 1 night in a hotel in Zell am See (the same rating 3*) and have paid 50 EUR/person/night. So who is the idiot now??? Certainly not the owners of this hotel...

Location of this hotel is of course good - next to the Schattberg X-press lift. But then again, Saalbach is such a small village that regardless where you stay, you will be close to the lifts and the slopes.

The staff was unfriendly and with the exception of one or two persons at the front desk, they spoke only German.

German... the only language in the world, it seems. Menus were only in German and the restaurant staff didn't speak a word of English.

Although dinner was included, we chose to eat out almost every night. The food wasn't exactly the kind you want to enjoy on your holiday. Breakfast was quite simple but decent.

Rooms were very basis. Not even soap in the bathroom - unbelievable. But the room was clean, though.

Had an ok experience overall. The service when we arrived was nice, the receptionist did a good job, and spoke english well. The other staff didn't, and that led to many misunderstandings, especially in the restaurant. We eventually gave up trying to explain to the waiter what we wanted. Got a bit frustrated at times.
The food was average. Some nights it was great, but other nights we were disappointed. The Zanderfilet was not good. We couldn't eat any of it. Coming from Norway we're used to lovely fresh fish, so it's possible that we just have too high standards when it comes to fish. Breakfast was ok.
The location is great! There is a gondola just a few steps from the back door, and a short walk to the shops and restaurants in Saalbach. Almost every room has a balcony. We used ours as a refrigerator as there is none in the room.
We also appreciated the cleanliness of the rooms. Couldn't see any dirty spots when we got back to the room after skiing.
All in all, a nice hotel to stay in on a ski vacation.
