Before I describe the litany of events which marred what had the potential to be an excellant holiday I would like to make it very clear - I am not in the habit of complaining about hotels/holidays.
We arrived early @ the hotel after a 3 hour transfer time. I had read previous reviews but as always I was prepared to give the place a fair chance. However from the check in things did not go well. Once we had eventually been shown to our room - had to wait while others who had checked in after us were shown to their rooms first - we noted that although three beds had been made up there were only 2 duvets, pillows and bath towels. After dinner we informed reception who assurred us it would be sorted ASAP. When we returned to our room @ approximately 12mn things had remained unchanged - phoned reception to discuss this and also the fact that the hot water was boiling and we couldnt get it cooled - we were told that it was not possible to get this sorted @ this time of night and would have to wait until the morning.
Fair enough we thought - requested things to be rectified again after breakfast!!!!!! After skiing we came back to the room and things appeared sorted. however, tried the shower and got scalded again - and to top things off the toilet had stopped flushing -decided to use the jacuzzi/pool facilities - freezing cold - not whats required after an active day on the slopes.. We rented out 3 bathrobes- one got stolen while we were in the sauna with the key of the room in the pocket - advised reception - they made us pay again for another robe AND another room key - they told us we should have left the key in reception!!!!!!!!!! - decided not to use these facilities again.
Eventually complained again to reception - sent up someone - the cold water mains to the room had been switched off.
In the dining room you are allocated a specific table to use and all extras ie drink are added to the room bill however on the 3rd morning of the holiday we noted that the table had been used - found this strange but decided not to say anything as maybe someone else had been mistaken.
On 4th morning came down to an occupied table - informed waitress - she told us that the tables are sometimes double booked but could not give us a guarantee that nothing would be added to our bill from these people - had to really stress the point with them - have a habit of not understanding English when it suits them!!!!!
The last and final straw was when after missing dinner - was availing of the MAD apres ski - we brought a chinese carry out back to the tables which are dotted around reception.
We had passed a waitress who had joked with us about being out dancing - but didnt mention anything about the chinese food. We were sitting chatting when this RUDE UPSTART rushed up our table and shouted @ us"how dare you come into this hotel with food and make a mess(which we didnt) - you should go and hide!!!!!! - after initial protestations that we were quietly sitting @ the table eating - he was shaking with rage and told us if we werent careful we would not be allowed to stay in the hotel anymore.
We reasonably asked him for his name and he informed us that he was the owner!!!! - we were GOBSMACKED to say the least - this was the worst experience of customer care I have ever received and believe me I have stayed in numerous hotels.
Overall we paid alot of money for a hotel that just had too many things wrong with it
