“Nice and Homely, but very disorganised”

Haveing stayed a 2nd time At this hotel we found the standard has slipped mainly on the food, but the biggest problem was the accounts dept who kept making mistakes like asking us to check out 2 days into our 7 day stay, I agree with the contributer about the New years eve Gala dinner this year it did not work for the hotel the 7 30 sit down resulted in a first course arriving to the table at 9 pm and by desert time the dinning room was "deserted " overall this is no longer a 4 star Hotel more like a good 3 star

“This Hotel was far better than we expected due to some of the appalling comments from Previous guest.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

The hotel was very very traditional and i wouldnt say it was too tired i would say its value for money !

From the first night we landed late I asked Sophia on reception ( who was most helpful) for a little something to eat it was 10 pm we were served a 3 course meal.

Breakfast was amazing every morning wide varriey of bread, cereal , fruit and also bacon and eggs.

It was my birthday on the 8th jan they sang happy birthday and servred me with a cake thankyou very much to all the staff.

Steam room wasn't hot enough but the sauna , punch pool , jacuzzi and infra red room were just the trick after 6 hrs snowboarding for 6 days.

The rooms were cleaned thoroughly everyday inc folding clothes away, all the staff were friendly and always eager to help the only tension coming from the staff was when the owner and his wife was about they looked uncomfortable talking to us , because they were always being watched by the owner or his wife which we all felt was a little rude of them to be like that, customer service with a smile everyday from all the staff thank you if we were to come back it would be because of them.

It location is perfectly in the middle of everything apre ski supermarket local piste and the bus stop to either Zell or the kitsteinhorn glacier. Thanks to Jeff and Lyndsay from Crystal ski.

Many thanks on behalf of the Taylor group rooms 201 and 210 were great , N taylor

“Fantastic hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

We have stayed at the Orgler twice, and can't wait to go back again! The staff are incredibly friendly, the food is great, decor is traditional, and tastefully rustic! the open fire in the bar is so comfy and homely its hard to remove yourself from it after a hard day's skiing! Ignore the other reviews, the rooms are lovely for a ski resort, can't fault the place! It's a home from home!

“not a four star hotel for sure!”

We have stayed at many fine four star hotels in Austria as we ski there each year...this hotel was a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT.The rooms are very tired looking but clean ...the lobby is ok but no great atmosphere anywhere. The dining room looked ok and inviting with the big log fire but the place is run by a very small staff that are so tired and exausted that there seemed to be a bad atmosphere among them .The hotel rooms are far too warm so we had to open our windows at night and the noise on the streets below was unreal...it didnt look like a party town but the drunks seemed to party all night. The food was ok the first few nights but the night of New Years GALA dinner that all changed .two many drinks consumed by the staff ...by the time dessert came along the restaurant was deserted....We paid big money for that hotel and it just went downhill after that.My sister and her husband stayed at the Orgler last year and they cant believe how rundown it has become in a year. Also there seemed to be alot of mix up with bills etc.All I can say is its back to the Edelweiss and Gurgl in Obergurgl for us next year This hotel cost a fortune and left a bad taste in our mouths.
