We were recommended this hotel by one of the guys that worked where we stayed in Guatemala city. He said it was nice enough for the price, and he was right. It did have a nice view of the lake though, and he made sure to tell us to get a room with a lake view. (the balcony was great for drying clothes in the afternoon sun too!)
On the downside was the hot water wasn't hot, just wasn't as cold as the cold tap. But seeing as the weather was quite hot anyway, it was too bad. (and at this stage of our trip, I was used to luke warm showers)
Pros:
- Great view of lake
- Easy to organise bus to Tikal
- Quaint decor
- has pool
- really good air-con
Cons:
- cold shower
- internet on our floor didn't work, but worked fine in the lobby (after we were able to restart the router finally)
- restaurant not too great (but there are others in close proximity)
- breakfast not included
- Santana Hotel Peten
