“sadly not better”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 December 2011

I'm sad to report that this LQ has not improved. Although the stay was okay it wasn't much more than that either. There was a light oder in the bathroom and I was surprised that the hall way had a rich perfume of some kind. I suspect to hide something else. We stayed 2 nights and boths times we had to go to the reception to ask for something. First time a light bulb which wasn't broken but the power plug was out, under the bed. The second day they had taken our towels but didn't replace them. Both time we got things fixed but it look like it was a bit toooo much asked! The breakfast is dramatic. The poorest I ever seen in a LQ! Although the staff tried to be accommodating, it didn't seem to work out well. The price of $85 per night was way to much!

“Never staying here again”

We are devoted to La Quinta Inns and stay at them regularly. We are members of their Returns Club and usually choose La Quinta over other motels because of their value and consistent quality. We did not find that to be true at this particular inn, however. It obviously is an older motel that was refurbished after Hurricane Katrina and the maintenance is not being continued to make it a first class establishment. We had two issues that needed repair and I told the desk clerk about them as we were going out for the day. When we returned that evening they still had not been done. The room was not in good repair--the shower head was broken, the shower area was not clean, a number of places were very worn and should have been updated, the coffee maker did not work as it should have, the mirrored door to the closet was off its track and leaning back against the closet, unusable. The desk clerk did not ask me if our stay was satisfactory as I left or I would have told her so I wrote a letter to the La Quinta headquarters when we returned home and a note to the manager of this particular Inn. “Sorry I picked this hotel”

I would like to first state that I am a La Quinta rewards member and try to stay at La Quinta. I walked in and asked how much for the night I stated that I have AAA, AARP, and Military. I was told that it would be $109 a night. I said "What!!! The Comfort Suites across the highway is $103 and your going to charge me more then them." Another person walked up and said lets look. The first person then said it will be $79.00. I stated great I'll take it. It then was changed to $89. Which at this point I should have walked out, but I didn't I took the room. I should have left when I walked down the hall and it smelled.( 2 nd BAD SIGN) When we walked into the room the smell was old, stale and moldy. I sprayed hair spray so that we could stay there. When I booted up the computer to get on the WI FI the home page is this La Qunita offering rooms for $84.00 a night. (4th bad sign) While I was sitting at the desk I happen to look up at the ceiling and noticed that there was mold at the crease where the walls meet the ceiling whick explaines the smell. The sheets had a damp feeling to them and the pillows were small and very uncomfortable. There wasn't a blanket on the bed only a lite bedspread. That evening the temps dropped into the 40's so the room was cold. Sooo when I turned the heat on it set the smoke dectector off. I ended up going out to the car and getting my car blanket so that we get some sleep. Noted that the pool was closed temps were in the 80's that day. Sorry I stayed here.

“Don't Waste Your Money on the Nasty”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 April 2011

This is not our first stay with La Quinta, we have stayed at La Quinta all over the US, as we like the fact we don't have to pay extra for our fur-baby--the dog, he travels with us every where we go. This one is the worst of the worst !!!
We checked in and our room smelled, there wasn't a hairdryer in the bathroom. We moved to another room. The room did not smell, but when I tried to use a towel.....it was bloody and not clean at all. I called down to the front desk....she advised me to bring the towel to the front desk as she was the only person there and housekeeping did not arrive til 9am. I thought to myself "when hell freezes over". Around 20 minutes later, the maintenance guy brought us fresh towels, but they were not that clean either....dingy brown with stains on them. Bed was not that comfortable, had planned on staying 3 nights, only stayed 2 nights. Did not eat there, went to IHOP instead.
The swimming pool was GREEN and not accessible at all !

Room Tip: Donot stay at this La Quinta, it is awefull !!!!

“One Night Only”

The hotel staff was pleasant. Unfortunately, that was the only plus. I was disappointed by the mangy, dingy look and feel of the room. I had to move the nightstand and a chair to plug in the bedside and work area lamps. The television needs to be replaced because the images were outlined with a sickly green. The free wi-fi was down. Maybe they didn't want me to use it to search for another hotel? The room door wasn't broken, but it didn't snick shut without a fair amount of weight against it. The bathroom was unkempt. There was hair on the bathroom door, the towels were thin and dingy - one wash cloth, or should I say rag - was downright dirty. I wanted to take a shower with my socks on just to keep my bare feet from touching the tub. The complimentary breakfast was sufficient, but after preparing a beautifully delicious looking cup of coffee in the lobby only to sip it and find it cold, the breakfast had a "just be glad there's something here" feel to it. Overall, something was missing. We reserved a 4 night stay,March 23 - 27, but one night was enough. We checked in at around 1 AM after an 8 hour drive and checked out just before noon and went to another hotel. If you pay with a debit card, the entire cost of the stay will be debited at check-in so you do not have the option of leaving it on the card or paying cash. In light of my not-so-positive experience, this was an important detail. I have no plans to ever stay at this LaQuinta again and I definitely would not recommend it to a friend.
