“Nice Place to Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

We stayed here for a week and found it very enjoyable. Because it is tucked away on a side street, the rooms are quiet. The hotel and rooms remind me of a small European hotel. The room we had was actually a nice size and the bathroom was a good size as well. We didn't feel crowded at all. Omni properties are nice in that they give you a bathrobe, three sets of towels and included in the amenties is mouthwash. Little touches that make a big difference. The hotel is very convenient to the French Quarter, the Canal Shops Mall and the Convention Center. The valet parking was efficient. The hotel staff is very nice. The hotel has a small, but lively bar with a "build your own burger" dining option in the evening. There is a small computer nook in the lobby if needed. We would definitely stay here again - it is a nice change from the big hotel chains. We found it very charming.

We're glad you chose us as your home away from home for a week in New Orleans. We try to provide that charm that the larger chains can't always deliver. Please come back next time you're in New Orleans.

“Good Location With A Great Staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

I chose this hotel due to its proximity to the Quarter and the port for a cruise. The hotel is neatly tucked away on a side street one block from Canal. It has a small elegant lobby with a very friendly helpful staff. The rooms are small, as you would expect with a hotel of this style, but were very comfortable and well apportioned. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom adequate with a nice shower. Small gym and sauna but with nice equipment. I would stay here again for the right rate.

“Impossibly small room, 1 double bed, no desk, no chair, no business center”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

We booked and prepaid for a queen room through expedia ($228/night). Upon arrival we were given a room with only 1 double bed. The room itself was less than 10 feet wide, had no desk and no chair. When I returned to the front desk I was informed that room type is never guaranteed either through expedia OR through Omni itself. In addition, the hotel does not have a business center.

I found the switch of room type unprofessional, but the lack of a desk and/or chair and lack of a business center to be unacceptable. The hotel advertises all rooms come with an executive desk and does not make any reference to the fact there are any rooms with beds smaller than queen size.

The manager on duty the night of my arrival was a very kind man who attempted to resolve the problem. To counter this, when he walked away, his colleague advised me I should just "get drunk and pass out" so I would not remember the room. Ultimately, half way through my stay (and after hours at the front desk) I was moved to a better room. Had I only stayed in this larger room I would have had a different impression of the hotel. However, knowing the hotel has no guarantees and is knowingly numerous guests each night leaves me with an unfavorable impression.

Room Tip: Do not get rooms ending with"11"--- I.e. 411, 511, 611. These rooms are less than 10 feet...

First we want to apologize that you didn't get a queen room. Room type is guaranteed through our website and Expedia if your confirmation states as such. We are very sorry that we didn't have the room you booked. Second, some of our smaller rooms do not have a desk. We are working on a solution for the smaller rooms to provide a workspace that will fit in these rooms. Third, we regret our associates remark as a viable solution to your problem. We're glad that we were able to move you to a larger room half way through your stay. Thank you for your review. We will address all these issues to improve our hotel. We will also follow up with you privately for more information.

Stayed for 5 nights in late January. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Room very comfortable. Was a bit noisy Saturday night but otherwise peaceful. Breakfast was wholesome and had great variety.

“Beautiful Hotel!!”

I absolutely loved this place. The location was very important to me. I wanted it to be convenient to everything but not directly in the mix. We were able to walk everywhere or pick up a trolley for anywhere else. Rooms were gorgeous. Spacious, with a spa tub, and comfortable beds. The only complaint I had was hearing the person in the bathroom in tge room next to us. Overall I would definately return.
