The French Market Inn is quite a quaint little hotel perfectly situated in the heart of the French Quarter.
The service we got from all of the staff at the hotel was always absolutely superb, whether they were helping us out, offering advice, or simply joining us in some anecdotal conversation.
The rooms are small and dark and probably in need of some upgrade to the decor but in a weird way this sort of adds to the charm of the hotel, which feels far from perfect. The bathroom was also small but it was functional and I felt that both the bedroom and bathroom got a good clean every day.
The hotel is about 4 or 5 blocks from Bourbon Street and is situated at the corner of St Louis and Decatur. This gives you a wonderful opportunity to start your journey of a day headed straight towards the French Market or towards the river.
The hotel is also very reasonably priced. Myself and my cousin stayed on this trip so we split the cost of the room down the middle. It was about $60-70 per person, per night which was amazing.
Negatives. Internet Access. The hotel claims it has internet access but it is only accessible from the lobby and it is absolutely woeful. This is a real pain but there is a Hard Rock Cafe directly opposite which has free internet access if you want to go and browse whilst having a drink.
Would stay again.
