“Amazing Place!”

I recently stayed here for a mini vacation to New Orleans, and I was quite scared of what to expect of the reviews. Read bad & good... well here is the truth... 5 star service, clean, amazing, and the staff is amazing! While the hotel could upgrade mattresses, I had an amazing time. We had a master suite in the front of the house that over looked the street with the amazing bath tub. Yes our room was visited by the ghost of Ms Kitty, it was amazing experience and I would truly recommend this place to everyone. Wine and cheese at 6pm, and fresh coffee and pastries in the morning in the pool area. This place will no doubt be an amazing place in the next few months, but I will always stay here when I revisit New Orleans.

Room Tip: Master Suite!

“We stayed from 1/7/2012 until 1/10/2012 and could not have been more pleased.”

The staff was helpful with everything we asked for. The rooms were nice. Our Junior Suite had a jacuzzi tub and a spacious shower.

They have a wine and cheese hour starting at 6:00 every evening. Nice. Although the have no parking we parked on the street right beside the Hotel for free with no problems.

I had this trip booked since February of 2011. Reading earlier reviews here I thought we were juts going to have a place to lay our head but the place is totally different from earlier reviews here.

We will be back!

“Charming boutique hotel but missing the extras”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012

This hotel has been completely remodeled and has a lot of charm. It seems though like there are a few things that are missing, incomplete. The room was very spacious but seemed to be missing some furniture - we asked for an extra chair so we could sit down. The hotel would be amazing if they added a few small features such as a mini fridge, iron and hair dyers in the room. All in all a good location with a comfortable bed and accommodating staff. Wine and cheese in the evening was nice.

“UNBELIEVABLE!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2011

my girlfriend and i were fortunate enough to get a reservation at the newly remodeled MELROSE MANSION. WOW!!! we had stayed at the mansion several times in the past. the place is UNBELIEVABLE. completely remodeled and just awesome. we were blown away. the new management has turned this place into a top~of~the~line experience. the hotel is an old mansion that has been turned into a contemporary dream. everything is new. the bathrooms are to die for. the staff is outgoing and totally accommodating. the new pool and landscape are dramatic. if anyone is looking for a place to stay while in new orleans, you will not be disappointed. you will feel like royalty.

Room Tip: we stayed in the room above the pool. totally separate from the other rooms. sweet.

“Very nice stay”

Despite a couple of negative remarks about this hotel/B&B we decided to give it a try. It was fantastic. The location is very good for Bourbon st. and Frenchman st. Parking might be a bit troublesome but we could park the car right in front of the hotel. Renovations are almost done, we stayed in a junior suite which was beautifully redecorated. Large bathroom with bad and separate shower. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is on the meager side, we haven't had the chance to check out the wine in the afternoon. But Cafe Rose Nicaud is right around the corner on Frenchman st. for a nice breakfast. We had a wonderful time in New Orleans, thanks to this wonderful hotel.
