“Our New Orleans Wedding”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

We stayed at the Maison Dupuy from January 26-29, 2012. I loved the location to Bourbon Street. We were able to enjoy our evening from Bourbon Street to Frenchman Street and still walk confortable to our hotel, and then enjoy a quiet night’s sleep. We were with a semi-large group of people. We enjoyed our king room with a balcony on the 3rd floor. The room was large enough and very clean. We enjoyed the balcony and the jazz music that was playing in the courtyard. Everyone at the Maison Dupuy was very accommodating and very, very nice. I will say that I was so surprised at how nice EVERYONE was in New Orleans. Friendliest town I have ever been too. We did not have our wedding at the hotel because we were not needing that large of a space and were looking to go a bit cheaper. However, our wedding day was made very special by our guest that attended and our stay at the Maison Dupuy.

Congratulations on your marriage! New Orleans provides such an exquisitely fun location with historic charm for wedding ceremonies, pictures and of course the receptions. We’re glad to hear that everyone had such a terrific time and that we could provide you and your guests with a comfortable and friendly place to stay. Since you mentioned you enjoyed the jazz music you heard from your balcony, you may be interested in returning this April for the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival which features 12 stages with jazz, gospel, Cajun, zydeco, blues, rhythm and blues, rock, funk and more. Hope to welcome you back soon to Maison Dupuy.

“Quiet but close to action!”

WE spent 3 nights in the Maison DuPuy and it was excellent. We had the standard room which was well furnished and very comfortable. Coffee machine, good toiletries, plenty of towels and very clean. A fridge would have been useful but on our way back each night we just bought cold drinks at a little shop about 150 yards from hotel so no real problem. We ate in the restaurant one evening and the food was very good and inexpensive - to be honest we wish we had eaten there every night as it is not worth the hassle getting into restaurants in the main entertainment area. Staff were helpful - particularly Sarah Abrusley the Guest Services Manager. The hotel is very close to Bourbon Street - 2 blocks - but you could be 2 miles away as it is so quiet. Some of our friends actually stayed on Bourbon Street and wished they hadn't!!

We’re so happy that your three nights at Maison Dupuy were so restful. Our location makes us a premiere choice when visiting the French Quarter as we are close to all the excitement of Bourbon Street yet far enough away so that our guests can enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep. Thank you for mentioning how much you liked our restaurant at the hotel. Since you enjoyed the food so much, you may want to return during the 2012 French Quarter Wine Festival when our own renowned Chef prepares delectable dishes and pares them with some of the best wines that are highlighted during the festival. We hope that we can welcome you back soon to New Orleans and the Maison Dupuy!

about 2 blocks to Bourbon St. so near the action but away from the noise....rooms spacious clean and comfortable...staff wonderful..breakfast exellent. didn;t eat supper there as we were always out and about, apparently they have a ghost on the 5th floor..we were on the 4th, but i do believe the little girl ghost came and visited with us in the night, as i had a lovely back rub and my hubby says he didn't give me one. all of the French Quarter has ghosts, so don't stay anywhere in the French Quarter if you are afraid of that.

Room Tip: we asked for a garden view just in case the street was busy because i am a light sleeper...overlooke...

We stayed at the Maison Dupuy for 3 nights. This hotel is close enough to Bourbon St. and etc. but also far away enough to have a quiet time at bedtime. We totally enjoyed our stay. We had a standard King room on the 3rd floor which was big enough and very cleaned. The staff were friendly and courteous and etc...We are planning to come back .

Room Tip: Room 349 and 355 were quiet rooms . No view but quiet which is what we wanted.

Thank you for your kind review of the Maison Dupuy. We were so happy to learn that during your three night stay you enjoyed our location, cleanliness and staff of the hotel. Our close proximity to Bourbon Street is a great asset for going out and experiencing all the excitement, then walking back to the hotel to get a great night's sleep. We are delighted that you are already planning on returning, as there are many great events coming up in the area over the next several months including Mardi Gras, the 2012 French Quarter Wine Festival, and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. We hope to welcome you back soon.

“3rd stay not a charm”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

I have stayed at this hotel 2 xs before, Pre and Post Katrina on business. When I find a boutique hotel I like, I try to return with business. The big boxes do not need my business especially in an area that attracts many conventions. I am an Expedia Elite Plus user-for whatever that is worth, and this hotel is marked as VIP access, so I thought it would be a bonus. Since I was on holiday, I was not in a hurry…so the saga begins. At check-in I was met with the comments “you made your reservation through a third party provider, you have a king bed room without a view. If you want to upgrade it is $20.00 per night” at this point I told them about their affiliation with Expedia. “We know nothing about that”. I asked if they could call Expedia and see what they are advertising and I would store my luggage and return later when the front desk was not busy. Expedia called me 2 xs to try to resolve the issue. Since I am from upstate New York-in January- windows that open or a balcony are a must have. I did get an upgrade to a room with a balcony -320. It was the smallest room that I have had at this hotel and not in very good shape. There was mold on the ceiling of the bathroom, the head of the bed abutted the stairwell with metal treads, so I heard people running up and down it wall night. So I believe my Expedia VIP affiliation got me 2 glasses of house wine.
One of the reasons I like (liked) this hotel was because it has a pool and hot tub. The hot tub was out of order and the pool was an obstacle construction site to enter. Now I could have called before I made reservations to see if they were operable, but I didn’t. I know repairs have to be done, and it was my fault for not checking.
Now the good things were the guy playing guitar in the bistro-excellent for someone young and Marvin the car/bag attendant was funny and attentive. Coffee in the lobby is very good. Fortunately there are many boutique hotel options in the French Quarter that I will have the opportunity to explore in the future.
