I stayed at the Hotel Royal for 3 nights. My room and bathroom were classy, smaller than a major hotel but quite adequate. Marble floors throughout. Comfortable bed. Full of character, clean, interesting, trendy. I was told there had been a recent $2million remodel. I made a last minute booking and paid $149 a night over the busy Friday and Saturday and then $89 for the Sunday night. This was cheaper than other hotels of similar quality. Staff were very personable and professional I shall be returning in 2013 for a conference again and will definitely stay there again.Oh did I say perfect location on Royal street on arguably the best art store shop in New Orleans and a couple of blocks from Bourbon Street.

I recently stayed here for 2 nights with my husband, prior to a cruise out of the Port of New Orleans, and I couldn't have been happier with our choice in hotel! From the minute we stepped on the sidewalk in front of the hotel, on the beautiful Royal St, we loved the French Quarter vibe of the hotel. We were welcomed as soon as we walked in the doors by 2 fantastic employees (Keisha and Ty) and felt right at home. Our room was quite a hike to get to but beyond worth it. We were on a top floor with spectacular views of the Quarter. Our room was gorgeous and bright, and super clean. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom clean and modern, and renovations are evident everywhere in the building. Everyone there went above and beyond to be helpful and I was honestly sad to leave for our cruise! They were quite willing to give tips of where to go for authentic New Orleans sights and the hotel has a fantastic location for exploring on foot. The building itself is so beautiful, I can't wait to go back! Thanks again for a great stay!

The Hotel Royal, New Orleans, is the newest gem in the boutique category. This property is located in the 1000 block of Royal in the heart of the French Quarter. Royal is known for its art and antique shops. You're right in the middle of these shops when you stay here.
This is a recently opened hotel, one of three managed by the same company. The rooms are somewhat compact and exceptionally clean. They feature nice flat screen tv's, free wifi, and room safes. Coffee is offered (Community brand, of course) in the lobby and the only smoking is in the courtyard. You have to find your own parking. My choice was next to the Jax Mall, about 3-4 block away. I can't think of any French Quarter attraction this is not handy to this property. Bourbon Street is only on block, Canal is about eight blocks, the river (and the French Market) is only four blocks. Convenience and frugality are the rule here at Hotel Royal. My rate was great! The staff is friendly. The rooms are quite clean and comfortable. I wish I had the time to go back, Right Now!

I was a bit nervous to book. Considering some of the reviews but I'm happy we did. We stayed this past weekend and the location more than pays for itself. Our room was very nice. Not amazing, but it's a boutique hotel. You pay for the quirky, different atmosphere. Wouldn't reccomend it for families as it is a bit more geared towards couples. When we got there we noticed the water in our toilet was very high so we flushed it once, to see, and water came pouring out. We threw a towel down, alerted the young lady and the desk and went on our way. When we came back we had fresh towels, and it was as if the room had never been touched. Staff was amazing. So helpful. I asked the young woman at the counter if she could take a photo of my boyfriend and I and she was more than happy, and in fact encouraged us to go out into the street for a better photo. I will absolutely be staying again. The parking was non-existent but we were prepared for that, it's New Orleans. We parked at canal place and paid $9.75 cab fair, but we could've easily walked there, as we did when we were checking out. Great stay!
