The Marigny Manor House is the perfect place from which to enjoy Frenchman Street and the French Quarter. The inn is cozy and comfortable, John and Gil are talented, gracious hosts, and the breakfasts are delicious. This was my second visit to New Orleans, and Marigny Manor House was light years more pleasant than the large, impersonal hotel where I stayed the first time. I will definitely return!

I researched a loooong time on where to take my husband for his 50th birthday... but as soon as I found the Marigny Manor House, I knew my search had ended. Talking to John to confirm my reservation felt like talking to an old friend.
I can't say enough about John or Gil or their beautiful home. They love New Orleans and its quirkiness just as we do, and we felt like kindred spirits. Their sage words of advice that I'd like to pass on to whomever reads this... "don't over plan your New Orleans trip... just go out and let New Orleans happen to you." That was our plan (or lack thereof) all along, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Their location is perfect if you want to explore Frenchmen street or walk to the Quarter or beyond, depending on how far you want to go. (Wear comfortable shoes, because you never know!) The breakfasts were a delight. (Both the food and the conversation.)
We had some good belly laughs over my husband's "McGriddle" story and this was one of the most amazing trip we've had in years. I know for a fact it wouldn't have been the same without John and Gil. We're looking forward to returning soon.

.... is in New Orleans of course! And enjoying the authentic flavor and hospitality of the Marigny Manor House B & B made it even better. John & Gil put a lot of effort into making this place unique and memorable. We enjoyed our time immensely. One highlight was the history and stories both John & Gil shared. You know you're with hosts who know New Orleans well and love it. Another highlight is Gil's incredible breakfasts. Choose between 8am or 9am (or not at all if you prefer). On special holiday's you may get an 11am brunch. The rooms are spacious and the beds firm. Choose the Red Room for more quiet from the street and a more modern style shower bath. (Bathroom is en suite but down 3 stairs.) Choose the Green Room for brilliant morning light and a balcony accessed via an old style floor to ceiling double sash window. The back 2 rooms I didn't see. The location was perfect for those who like to walk and explore..... about 15 min to the heart of the French Quarter. Good restaurants and entertainment very close on Frenchmen St. We felt safe but late on New Year's eve took a pedicab home. All in all a great time was had!

This was perfect! If you want a convenient location that allows you to walk to the French Quarter, via the totally cool Frenchmen Street, without having to listen to French Quarter noise, this is it! The hosts, John and Gil are wonderful. I felt welcomed from the moment we pulled up in front of the house - literally. I have stayed in many B&B's, and have never felt so appreciated and so cared for. I will definitely stay here again. The food and conversation were fabulous!
