“Beautiful place, great staff”

I picked the the 1896 O'Malley House because of a tripadvisor review, and we were not disappointed. Larry has a beautiful and welcoming home. Jason made great breakfast for us while we were there. Althought the house is out of the Bourbon Street area, its location is perfect; close to the public transportation (trolley, buses and taxis) with access to everything.
We celebrated our anniversary, and we'll back to enjoy so much of what the city has to offer.
Thank you for a great stay.

“Wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else in NOLA!”

We've stayed at O'Malley House several times now over the past three years, and it's truly become our home away from home.

The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, the decor historic yet eclectic, and the location just perfect for us -- away from the craziness of Bourbon Street, yet a convenient streetcar ride to the French Quarter (with a streetcar stop located just a half block from the house's front door).

Larry, the innkeeper, and his staff are as friendly and helpful as can be. Breakfast conversation with Larry is a perfect way to start each day. He's full of great stories and valuable suggestions for sightseeing, dining and entertainment. Finally, no review of O'Malley House would be complete without mentioning the two adorable house dogs: Cody and Porter.

As a frequent visitor to the Crescent City since long before I discovered O'Malley House, I've stayed at many hotels and B&Bs all across the city, and I can say that nowhere else I've stayed even comes close to this B&B for comfort and convenience, and I can't wait to visit again for Mardi Gras.

“Old South Graciousness With This Elegant B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

My husband and I stayed at 1896 O'Malley House January 7-9, 2012 to attend the BCS football game. It was a wise choice. (We had previously stayed in the French Quarter for the Super Bowl two years ago but it was a huge mistake. We did not get to sleep until 5am because of the noise and yelling of the passerbys.) No problem with noise at the O'Malley House. It is located out of the French Quarter which is exactly what we wanted. The French Quarter is a great place to visit and celebrate, not a place where you want to sleep. The O'Malley House is just a few steps from the Canal Street streetcar and it is incredibly easy to get into the French Quarter riding the streetcar. And no parking fees for your car! Besides the wonderful location, we were so pleased with all of the well thought out amenities that this B&B had to offer. We stayed on the second floor in a lovely spacious room. The beds are really comfortable with soft bed linens. The bathroom amenities are wonderful. I really liked the Honey shampoo, Honeysuckle conditioner and the O'Malley House bathrobes. The chocolates on our pillow were a nice touch on our return each evening. There is a generous butlers pantry stocked with wine, beer, soft drinks, snacks, homemade muffins, and a wide choice of high quality teas. The dining table is very elegant and the breakfast is delicious. Fruit cups with yogurt, homemade muffins, breakfast casseroles, etc... served on beautiful china. The coffee is rich and flavorful if you enjoy quality coffee. Larry, the owner joins you at breakfast for delightful conversation and helpful suggestions on things to do in New Orleans. You have access to a computer and fax and they provide daily newspapers. I can't say enough good things about this bed and breakfast. From the telephone call where we made our reservations with Jason until we checked out 3 days later, we were very pleased with our choice of B&B and see why it is consistently number one on Trip Advisor for best B&B in New Orleans. We highly recommend this bed and breakfast and plan on making it our place to call home whenever we are in New Orleans. You'll love the dogs too! They are well behaved and very sweet.

The house is beautiful. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. Made to feel at home especially by the 2 lovely dogs who became our friends. Location wise. Right next to the street cars that take you straight into the french quater. Breakfast was great and served in the lovely dinning room. Overall perfect homely place to stay in new Orleans.

“The absolute best!”

I can't say enough about the 1896 O'Malley House. Larry, the owner, and Jason, manager, are great hosts and the O'Malley House has been beautifully restored. You absolutely will not believe the breakfasts that are served. Larry makes an effort to get to know each of his guests and we feel like we're staying at a family member's house. We can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: Any of the second floor rooms are exceptional.
