“Probably the best bargain in the city”

While you can get cheaper rooms in New Orleans, this hotel is amazingly inexpensive for the quality and service. You will pay under two hundred dollars for a room per night, but you get two real rooms, breakfast and dinner included. The entire staff from the front desk to maids and repair crew are friendly, polite, and helpful. It impressed me enough that I made a call to the general manager to express my admiration for pairing quality employees with a quality hotel.

Regardless of the purpose of your trip, do not underestimate the value of having two rooms. If it is business, you, perhaps, do not really want to invite a person to your bedroom---especially of the opposite sex---for a private conversation. If the trip is personal, you have the luxury of allowing one person to watch television or chat without disrupting somebody else's time to sleep.

“Would stay again”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

We stayed at this hotel on Christmas Day through Wednesday, December 27th, 2011. We went to the Monday Night Football game between the Falcons and the Saints. Wonderful breakfast! We didn't eat the light dinner because we ate too much at the French Quarter. Because we paid $20 for parking, we chose to walk to the Quarter and the Superdome - both reasonable distances on foot. The only two problems we had were a) the fan was quite noisy in the bedroom and b) the toilet clogged up. I also used a safety pin to keep the curtains closed in the bedroom because they didn't meet. But the staff was friendly and the townsfolk were friendly, too.

Hi KorriBeth,
Thank you for staying with us during the Christmas holidays. We are delighted to hear that you would stay with us again. New customers are important to us, but repeat clientele is definitely the backbone of any business. We will also pass your comments regarding the fan, toilet, and curtains to the proper departments. Once again, thank you for staying with us!

“Fantastic family stay during holidays”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

My husband, 8 month old son, and my mom spent three nights at this hotel as part of a family trip between Christmas and New Year's. We went through a lot of angst over what kind of hotel arrangements would be right for us and splurged with getting a 2 BR suite for us and the baby, and getting my mom her own 1 BR suite. The prices were such a bargain, however, this wasn't a "break-the-bank" splurge! More importantly, we were delighted with our stay in every way!

Our rooms were enormous, which was especially nice for fitting in all the gear that comes with a baby. We brought a pack-n-play for him (the cribs at the hotel are the mini ones, which he's outgrown) and it fit easily into a corner of his bedroom. The beds were comfortable, but softer than is ideal for us. The kitchenette is adequate, but a little disappointing on the provisions. There was no dish soap or dishwasher soap, no mixing bowls and no stopper for the sink (it had a garbage disposal, so the strainer couldn't fit in closer and function as a stopper...we improvised by putting a glass in upside down). The water pressure in the showers was not great and one in particular took forever to get hot water going.

Beyond the rooms, the facility was great! Welcoming lobby and dining areas. Lovely pool!!! Good laundry facilities and business center.

We loved the location!!! We were a few short blocks from Canal Street and had no noise issues at all. We felt very safe and were pleased with eating options nearby (although there weren't many). A great find at the end of our stay was a new, high-end grocery store (Rouses) just a few blocks away! Fantastic!!!

The staff was oustanding in every way. They offered free bagged ice when needs exceeded what the freezer made. They gave great advice on where to go.

Altogether, it was an outstanding stay and we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again!

Room Tip: We had great luck on the 11th floor.

Hi Danalynn1128,

We were delighted to hear that your family had a gret time at our hotel, and enjoyed our convenient location. Our large suites are quite popular with families traveling with small children.

We apologize for the inconveniences that you experienced with us, and appreciate you letting us know so that we have an opportunity to correct them. Once again, thank you for staying with us and we look forward to seeing you in the future!

“Classic, historic hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 December 2011

Hotel is downtown and went well above and beyond my expectations.
The room was enormous! There was a full living room and separate room with a door with the beds. The bathroom was huge, clean, updated, and the water pressure was great.
The rooms on the upper floors have balconies that overlook the street, but it's all very cool architecture and I found it pretty relaxing just hanging out there for half an hour.
They have an indoor pool and a gym but I only used the gym. It had two treadmills, and elliptical, some free weights, and a tv...it was enough for me since there was no one else in there. As with other Homewoods, they have a Manager's dinner from 5:00-7:00 on Monday through Thursday with FREE beer and wine (both white and red). The value you get for your money is great when compared to other hotels in the area. I'll definitely try to stay at this hotel next time I'm in New Orleans.

“Great value, spacious suite”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 December 2011

We reserved a two bedroom suite. Our suite was on 7th floor. The suite was very spacious, with free internet and kitchenette. This hotel has a great hot breakfast, that was very enjoyable. It was a 10 minute walk to French quarter or the Riverwalk area. Street car service is close by. Parking is $18.00 + tax extra per day. Good value for such large suite size. Highly recommend this hotel. We plan to stay here on our next visit.
